Re: Fur Interior

I have seen this fur on lowriders, minis, hot rods, etc and I can say that it does look cool when it's new, but as it ages it "sheds" (for lack of a better word) and gets dingy and sun faded quick. If you can up keep it that would be one thing but that is ALOT of upkeep, imagine always having a shaggy dog in your vehicle.

Just my 2 cents Bro.

Re: Fur Interior

What color is the truck going to be painted? Just do what everyone else does and use tweed. A light grey tweed with the white headliner and dash would look pretty good. Just my .02. I know everyone does tweed but I think it looks good and its fairly cheap. I would do mine but it's a 4x4 and gets dirty inside a lot.

Re: Fur Interior

You could also sand the dash and interior panels smooth and get them painted like brushed aluminum. I've seen that before and it looked pretty neat. That would still look good with a white headliner and accents like heater vents and door handles.

Re: Fur Interior

Yea I was going to mention actual aluminum. But the paint would probably be cheaper unless he painted everything and added just aluminum accents, which would look killer. Oh and thunder94, I love your project beer run. I would love to have a beater truck like that.

Re: Fur Interior

I'd say so. I read through the whole project thread the other day. I bet it gets loads of attention at shows. Did you just paint it flat or did you actually use the chalkboard paint?

that would look cool, I didn't know if you were planning on making your own door panels or re using the stock ones.

Another color thought, a sunburst yellow? With sparkle in it?

yea it was a del sol....and it was a great little car. i would buy another one in a second if i could find a decent one in the area. there is/was one on ebay that was a direct japan import that was RHD, its awesome.

There was also a kid in CT who used to own one with a turboed H22 prelude engine in it with nitrous. put down about 500hp and ****ing screamed.....built right they are serious little cars.

Re: Fur Interior

I got some marine vinyl from Joann and it was cheap, durable, and easy to work with. I got it in black with leather grain for my box. They have it in all kinds of crazy colors. They had some in green that was really shiny and had glitter or something in it. It looked like a metal flake paint job. Looked pretty cool, but cant find it online.

I love the burlap, here is my glove box:

I also did the kick-panels in it. To do it "properly" you would want to apply two layers, because with one you would still see through it to the trim color.

And thanks Br&on's Z.

No problem man I freaking love your truck and want one just like it. Though it would look bad for a 17 year old to be driving a truck that is all about beer. I think the burlap looks great. I was hoping you wouldn't mind me stealing a pic for reference!

Nope, that's fine man.

I was at a Halloween USA and the manager came out and asked if he could take a few pics. After I said sure, he showed me it was his phone's new background pic.

Thats prolly the one exception to what I said. His does look good with the theme, but why rip off somebody elses total theme?
