first gen window cranks

what material are they made of? i was thinkin of usin aircraft paint stripper to get rid of the black paint and than to try and polish them out to be shiny. i dont think they would polish to well if they were nothing but aluminum. reason in asking this is because mine have a couple chips almost down to whatever their made of and id either repaint them or polish them and just seein if anyone knows if they could be polished or not. same question as for the door handle's. (i believe their same material, so the answer would work with both)

Re: first gen window cranks

They are a real low grade cast aluminum. I doubt they would polish well.

Re: first gen window cranks

you should also be able to pic up a new set of chrome ones at any auto parts store in the "help" section.

Re: first gen window cranks

on the door handle's and (lock if you dont mind) are they easy to switch out, i see them are power where mine are not. so the handle would need switched out with the one i have.

them would work and look good on the all black door panel's, pm me a price for the handle's, cranks and the lock tabs(push pull things) or whatever their called.

sorry, havent been on much.. actually my whole project may just be thrown out now that i was rear ended and the truck cab is all bent up and bed, not even sure if it will hold a new backwindow or not.. so with that being said, im gonna wait and see if my buddy (the one who rear ended my while texting) is going to buy my truck for what i paid since i just got it, than call it his or if ill have to end up turning it into insurance which he dont have so.. ill leave the decision on him cuz im not gonna be out a car over someones dumbass mistake basically.. so ill let you know depending on how this shit goes.
