First Gen Bucket seats

Just purchased a '89 Chevy S-10 pickup. It originally had a bench seat and want to install some Cavalier buckets. Understand from searching the site that I need to locate some first gen bucket seat tracks. Will tracks from either first gen pickup or blazer, work?

Re: First Gen Bucket seats

Thanks for the information. Having more than one model always helps the part search.

Re: First Gen Bucket seats

yep yep. I drive a 87 blazer and dad drives a 93 reg cab and we own a couple of parts trucks so most of my parts like this come off of a truck, lol. Pretty much everything from the back edge of the doors forward is the exact same between the two.

Re: First Gen Bucket seats

Have another question...
Since my truck originally had a bench seat, where do I drill the inner mounting holes for the bucket seat tracks? Thought I read that the factory marked the holes, but didn't drill them. Is it going to be obvious when I pull up the carpet?

Re: First Gen Bucket seats

What condition and color in the bench seat in. I have to black buckets that I would be willing to trade for a bench.

Re: First Gen Bucket seats

When I bought the truck last month, the bucket seats were just sitting on the floor - not mounted. I never had the original bench seat.

Re: First Gen Bucket seats

You have to drill the inner 4 holes (two for each side). I don't recall exactly but don't think the holes are marked any more than a kinda flat spot that the brackets sit on perfect.

Hmm obvious you say and yet you still tried to hock your stuff in the wrong section. In that case I'm sorry, was just reading and trying to help you find the right section.

Re: First Gen Bucket seats

i recently tried to put in 94 grand am buckets in my 91 pickup and theres no way in hell it could ever work no matter how much fabbing

the part of the floors in these trucks where the inner bucket seat brackets would mount to the floor are just too crazy to be able to use anything other than factory correct s-10 ones

even the outer bench brackets wont bolt to the buckets, totally different bolt up

i also tried a 95 park avenue bucket seat, same problems, just wayyyyy too different

i have no idea how anyone could put any non-s-series seats in one of these trucks otherwise

i need ot loe the busted up bench seat in my 91 but there is no way to bucket seat it without finding a bucket seat s-series truck to take from

which is impossible to find here with scrap prices up so high now

good luck
