fiberglassed headliner

since the interior is my winter project. how hard is fiberglassing the headliner, has anyone done it? steps to take when doing the headliner so that it wont warp or change the shape. how well would it still hold up with normal riding andhold up to the roof with the extra weight etc? ive searched trying to find pics, but no luck for that.. this will be for an 88

i did come across a cf headliner for 94+ trucks:
http://www.stockinteriors.com/Carbon...=31&ModelId=91

but pretty pricey, but does look cool.

im wanting to fiber glass a overhead console into the headliner making it all one large fiber glassed piece, possibly a speaker on each side.

(im thinkin i seen a green s10 in the mini truckin mag with a fiberglassed hl awhile back)

Re: fiberglassed headliner

im not sure, but i probably wouldnt resin the material on it, it always seems to sag after awhile anyways and adding more weight to it id think it wouldnt hold as well..

Re: fiberglassed headliner

It's been done, but you are gonna have to lay mat down and glass it, not just lay resin on the stock material. Your biggest problems are gonna be the following:
1. Getting it smooth, gonna be ALOT of sanding
2. Keeping it from warping while the resin set up, gonna have to tack it down to keep the resin from pulling it in on itself while it sets.
3. Getting it back in, gonna have to be careful not to bend and crack it getting it back in place, as if you make it too thick, it'sll sag and not stay in place.

KingKaspr did his, and it turned out pretty good, he may be able to help you out some.
