I think anything using the standard Saginaw column that GM has used for years will fit. The new trucks that have rack & pinion instead of the box steering though, I don't think will fit. But the C5 Vette wheels should fit.

Should be the same yeah. Anything with the same upper column that has an airbag should have the same connection for it. The differences in connections will be for stereo controls and such.

Re: Different gm steering wheel that fits?

Unless the air bag connectors are the exact same P/N's as the S10 ones, the airbag won't work. Either that or you can get the airbag module from the donor and somehow get it to work. I wouldn't mess with switching up the airbag parts though but that is just me.

I'd love an Impala SS steering wheel. On second though, I'd love an Impala SS. Beastly little mothers.

Re: Different gm steering wheel that fits?

I bought a leather Colorado wheel for mine, but it doesn't fit the old style (94) column. I'll try it on my 01 to see if it fits, but it looks kinda cool for a stock one.

Not yet. I forgot I have to pull the airbag out of it first, and I haven't felt that ambitious yet. LOL, I'll do it this weekend.

I had a 1'st gen that I was looking to get one of those wheels for. Ended up finding a "better" looking wheel in the same gen Lumina van. Where the Cavi had the square horn pad, the Lumina had a pentagon shaped pad that transitioned nicer, IMHO, between the three spokes.

Clean looking wheel; might try to find another.

Here's is more of what I had. The wheel itself was exactly like the Cavi wheel with the molded spokes and non-leather, though.

I wanted to try the Trailblazer SS wheel, since I use one everyday in my daily and I really like it. However i read somewhere that it will not work. They are too pricey to buy one and try it out haha.

THose cavi steering wheels look like sh*t in my opinion,

So with all these other steering wheels how come there are no pics?
I am definitely interested in a camaro/vette steering wheel swap.

Especially if it's a smaller diamtere wheel, would love more clearance for my knees

Re: Different gm steering wheel that fits?

yea, its an lt1...... i did some minor work to it, and bolt ons.... to be honest, it really wasnt hard at all. dont get me wrong, this is what i do for a living, but it was really simple imo..... the best advice i can give you is to take ur time, and buy a harness from current performance..... and if you have the dough, do an ls (nothing against the lt, but seeing how easy and straight-forward it is, due to all the conversion parts, i wish i did an ls1)

Re: Different gm steering wheel that fits?

I'm about to change my ignition switch out and I'm going to swap the wheel while I'm at it, since its worn down almost to the metal on the top of the wheel..

Does anyone know if the 98+ wheel is the same as the 95-97 as far as airbag, interchangeability, and bolt pattern?

its probably the same, and in say this only because the 98 trucks had either steering wheel, but i think they are the same column

Re: Different gm steering wheel that fits?

So the airbag is a no go? I'd much rather have the safety of an airbag, if it'll go.

I'm just looking for a new GM wheel and all I'm finding is the 98+ wheel on ebay.. Tried the junkyards for one, but still can't find a good one.
