Re: cutting 60/40 seats
unbolt the seat, unbolt the flip down armrest. flip seat upside down. pull the seat cover off the bottom only on the center part that will get cut off and lift it up and fold it over. theres no reason to completly remove it. separate foam from seat frame. cut seat frame, you will be able to tell where to cut it, and with a Knife cut the foam. try to get a good contour and do a little at a time. i just pulled the eccess seat cover around and under the seat, used 5-6 small screws with washers to hold the cover to the fram and trimmed off the eccess cover.
i did it to my 95, but had a friend with an 01 that i helped out with heres my 95: ![]() |

Re: cutting 60/40 seats
yup i did in my 95 it was super easy to do. i have seat covers on mine but even if i didnt you wouldnt be able to tell i cut it.
the only problem i had was that i cut a big hole into my 80 dollar carhart jacket and that pissed me off lol |

Re: cutting 60/40 seats
Are you guys happy with the way these turned out in person?
They look flawless in the pics. I hate my 60/40 seats and this seems like the cheapest route to go, but is it better to just buy blazer buckets? |

Re: cutting 60/40 seats
Honestly i am happy with the results. sure i thought of buying some blazer buckets for $20 at the salvage yard but this mod is free. just make sure you plan things out when you cut. the way i see it, you might as well cut it and if you are not happy with it you can always buy the blazer buckets like you were going to in the first place.
on mine im sure i could have tucked it in better but the console hides all the wrinkles and it turned out damn good for not even using a single pin or stitch to keep the excess seat fabric out of the way. another reason to get rid of the 60/40 is that crappy armrest. Had to tell you i love the manual shift t-case with the stick shift. GM should have done more of those in gen 2. |

Re: cutting 60/40 seats
I want a console, but can't justify it, first i need one for a manual, and I use my middle seat sometimes, I've had 3-4 people in my truck up front.
