change shifter knob on 01 automatic

how do u do this i searched it and found nothing and was wondering if anyone has ever done this any help would be appreciated and pics would be nice too thanks

I'm guessing its the normal column shifter, if so I think trucks 69 has a pool ball on his, look that up.

its a column shifter, it looks like th end should unscrew or pop off but doesnt budge i want to know if its been done and if so does it unscrew or does it need cut off

If its a column shifter then the shifter handle comes off at the base of the handle arm. Follow the arm down to the column and pull the ribber boot back. There is a star-shape screw. I want to say its a T-20 socket. Anyway, thats how you get it off.

The knob on the end doesn't come off, it's molded onto the arm. You can replace the whole arm with a billet replacement from like Billet Specialties. You can try and cut the knob off the end of the stock arm and try to fit something on it.

Exactly. The knob is on there. You'll have to take the whole arm off.
