Anybddy used a really NICE replacement?
So I'm interested in a new carpet. Most of the aftermarket stuff doesn't have any insulation or backing, so I was thinking I'd just trim my old one down around the edges and leave it underneath the new one. I travel mostly highway and want to keep the thing nice and quiet.
I've searched around, and here too, but can't much find anybody that's used a high end product. www.auto-interior.com offers a "mass backed" product that would be around $200 shipped for my extended cab. Anybody have any insight on this, or any other companies that I should look at? The Nifty carpet is supposed to be nice but doesn't have any type of backing. |

I would check with Acc ( auto custom carpets) i use them for work, or try Trim Parts. they are both carpet companies that supply us with carpets for our classic Chevy's/gmc's. google them they should be on the web.

ACC looks nice, but pushing around $260 for mass backed. Seems pretty similar to the one at auto-interior. Humm...

Again, tell me about the matt you got. Was it a thick, rubber backed carpet? Jute panels?
Edit: Yes, so that's two votes for them. About $260 for a mass backed unit. |

Re: Anybddy used a really NICE replacement?
Wow, price is going up, but if it's really nice I can't see it being a waste. Plus, they'll sell me an extra yard of matching carpet so that I can redo the back wall of the cab as well.

Check here
http://stockinteriors.com/autocarpet...=31&ModelId=92 I got carpet for my 88 from them. It is a nice heavy carpet, but I had to trim like 3" from all sides for it to fit. |
