98+ auto console into 97 manual?? Anyone done it yet?

Ive heard its been done, but for the life of me cant find anything on it..
Im trying to do it right now, and really want to keep the auto console (I like the layout more) but am having trouble making it work..
Links? Tips? Anything would help..

I got it in and all, I cut a hole out for the shifter.. but right now im going to have to cut more than I want to to make gears 2nd,4th and Reverse possible..

Thought maybe anyone else might have any ideas..

Got it in.. had to scoot the console back up onto the lip of the rear of the cab which I didnt want to do.. but it worked

Damn. That looks factory! (Coming from me that's a huge compliment, btw.) In my ever so humble opinion, the "it didn't come from the factory this way but it could have" look is the best. Sometimes the subtle changes are the coolest. You, me and the rest of the S10 world knows that no S10 came from the factory with the 5 speed and that console, but to everyone else, it could have. I plan on upgrading my factory stereo to the factory 6 disc in dash changer, adding a hidden amp and sub and upgrading the speakers. To me, that's the perfect stereo. Subtle yet amazing.

Im my Colorado I have Hummer H3 seats, Hummer H3 floor shift console (auto) and H3 gauge cluster and no one that didnt know what they were looking at would know, but it looks soo much better (and more comfy) than factory

trimmed the rear of it cause it was sitting on the hump in the back, no it sits about 1.5in lower and I was able to bolt the back to the floor, muuuuch better
