02' power window switch-a-roo idea....

i have an 02' s10 and have been looking into switchin my crank windows to power. can i use any of the stock manual mechanisms or do i have to new tracks and everything? it almost appears (to me at least) i can remove the rivets and the manual crank and pop rivet the power bracketry to the unit.
manual unit..........

power unit.......

thanks to all for checkin and possibly shedding some light on the solution

Re: 02' power window switch-a-roo idea....

I just bought OEM regulators, lock actuators, door wiring and switches from s10 warehouse (eBay) to convert my manual windows and locks to power.

I too was tired of trying to find answers as to whether this would work or not, so I just bought all the stuff and I am going to make it happen.

I will be taking pictures and notes when I begin the install and will post my results in a tutorial format. Hopefully this will help others with this same issue.

Theres already a "how to" on here. http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f202/m...how-to-316636/

I recently just did this. Basically just drill out the rivets and put your own bolts in place of them. Use loc-tite to be on the safe side. You dont need to change the tracks or anything. The hardest part is swapping them out/in, but its do-able. Dont forget the window motor wire plugs. I got mine from s10warehouse on Ebay.

thanks for the link........... i did buy some motors from ebay, alittle cheaper than s10warehouse but i didnt think of the plug delima. have piece 1 of the puzzle and i'll do a pic-by-pic install, im going to go for the "motor only swap" using the stock guides and wut not. i do believe the really hard part for me is the pas door is suicided and the inner door bracing is probably covering the window guide/track bolt holes...... whoopee, soon will have power
