just got my copy of solid works today
. my brother and i are probably going to start programming parts for the 4x4 s10 market. from the sounds of it, its really going to happen soon. hopefully in a few months, there will be a new vendor for the serious s10 guys.

Re: woot!
I think you should wait to make ZR2 parts since Synergy Offroad mostly makes ZR2 parts.

Re: woot!
i am open to suggestion to a point. what could i make for lowered s10's? i dont really know anything about them. if you wanted to throw out some ideas i would try though. and what could i make that would be zr2 specific?
our goal is to make kits and parts that are cheaper and better than buying "lift kits" for these trucks. and for the sfa crossmember, we are going to try and make one that doesnt require any tools other than a drill, something that works without removing or destroying any mounts for the original suspension, so you could take it back to stock if you wanted to. plus it will have a lot of other cool features. when we are done building my s10, there will probably be another one going right into the garage to be the guinea pig. |

Re: woot!
why does everyone want skid plates? im sure a gas tank one would be good, better than the plastic one that comes stock. for the t-case, i will need to make a new crossmember for the sfa kits, that has clearance for the front driveline. i could incorporate a skid into that. we will see about the front diff, we will mostly be aiming at solid axle stuff. but if ive got the time and people want stuff, i can probably make just about anything.
im not sure what anything will cost at this point, we have to run that by the big bosses. |

Re: woot!
well, longer rear shackles on a k5 would lower it because it is a tension style stock. i would suggest better springs on a full size for lift. but i will see what i can come up with.
this is a rough draft of a sfa crossmember using leafs Last edited by Donahue; 03-13-2008 at 01:00 AM. |

Re: woot!
yeah, 70's ford and 73-87 chevy are 31.5" spring width. i want to make something that will work with all the most common setups. i am thinking full size chevy/ford, waggy 44, and then a d30, and sua or soa depending on what ever the preference is. i would also like to accommodate common springs used, like a set of stock s10 springs, possibly some 52"/56" chevy rear springs, or 53" ford rear springs. i also hear waggy springs are popular. my goal is to make everything 100% bolt on, but still stout as hell. i dont know how i can get around not welding rear perches on though, still working on that one.

Re: woot!
i probably will end up making stuff like that. it would be too easy to pass up. i just need to get access to unmolested s10's. i will probably be getting another blazer and pickup, both first gen. the pickup is 2wd and the blazer is 4wd. hopefully i can make some stuff that will make the 2wd guys just as convert to 4wd somewhat easily. i need to strip them down to the frame though, and compare and see what is the same and what is different between the two frames. then i will need to get a second gen to see if what i will be making will fit them too.

Re: woot!
i just redid that one, to give it less lift. and i just did one without the mich mount, that sits a lot higher, meaning less lift.
the winch one has a drop of 5.5" from the frame rail, and the non winch one has a drop of just 2". tell me, do you think this is a viable product? do you like the design? this question is for anybody. |

Re: woot!
on your outside flanges, where it bolts to the frame. you need to notch it for the body mount. other than that. looks great!
