Thinking of fabbing up one of these....

I saw one in a magazine, and then again on a jeep the other day. I work in a Fab shop and have all the required stuff at home so building it wont be a problem....Ill probably take it to work and powder coat it for good measure. Just wondering what the good, bad, and ugly was on them

Man that would be kick ass, I would love to see it dont to a Blazer. One bad thing (my dad told me) is that if you get hit in the rear the will fock up the whole back of the truck.

Ya im gonna do the whole thing, but since it is designed for a jeep, im gonna have to change it just a little bit. Probably gonna go with something like a 7ga 2x6 for the main part and regular 10ga for the rest.

I have used blazer tire mounts on my pickups with great results.

Re: Thinking of fabbing up one of these....

I have considered doing that, but i dont wanna go in to reinforce the body for it and add the piece that mounts to the tail gate. With this if i ever decide for some unknown reason that i wanna take it off i can without any ill effects being done. Plus this will also serve as a rock bumper(and look better) cause im gonna cut the rear quarter panels to get a better departure angle since i dont have great ground clearance right now, and also to get rid of the small amount of rust eating away at them.
