superlift install horror stories
been doing the 6in for a week now. the rear took me one full day and the front is taking me for ever it seems like. I broke the upper control arm bracket bolt because it says to torque it to 109(I think) and thats way too much. plus little stuff that they forget to tell you to redo. they really need to redo the instruction again
anyone else with some stories of thier own? by the way i`m doing it by myself and have a total of about 30 hours ![]() |

Re: superlift install horror stories
well.. I did a TM5 on my old truck.. doing it myself.. fora few hours after work.. and then all weekend long.. took me two full days and three - 3hr evenings to get it done..the hardes tpart i ran into was getting the torsion bars busted loose and removed so that i could remove the torsion bar crossmember assembly and install the drop brackets for it..the rest of it went fairly smooth...

Re: superlift install horror stories
ya thats about how long it took me installing my TM solo. About a week to do the front, working after work for 5hrs a day. Then one night for the rear. Honestly when deciding between lifts i chose the TM over the SL because of the price and the instructions were better....still garbage, but better than the SL one.

Re: superlift install horror stories
Your going to want to regear to at least 4.10s depending on what you have now. if you havent already, please add a tranny cooler. Your truck will love you forever if you do. |

Re: superlift install horror stories
dont know if anyone else cares....but:
although i didnt install it, i had to go back to the shop several times because. 1. I had to get the left exaughst re-routed to go ABOVE the front driveshaft. 2. there are two bolts hold together the sub framing, the tips point toward the steering drop link, and when im turned full crank, they hit the bolt, so i had to get the tips of the bolts sawed off.....that was scary shit watching a sawzaw clear in there next to everything. 3. there was a washer that acts as a spacer for one of the framing pieces....that didn't fit-->grinder. 4. somehow a bolt was lost or didnt come with the kit for the leaf spring, had to order one. |

Re: superlift install horror stories
numerous diffrent vehicles ive had problems w/superlift stuff.. 2 right hand brackets instead of left and right... doulbe packs of bolts and missing others / order upgraded parts they sent standard parts...ive had this problem w/procomp also...so its a 50/50 chance that your kit will be 100% complete but i have been sent highdollar shite and not charged for it so i dont say nothing then

Re: superlift install horror stories
My kit was missing 2 U-Bolts, nuts and bolts. And they sent me the wrong rear break line extension. After the kit was completed, there was alot of brakets and misc nuts and bolts left over. And now I'm noticing the powder coating is starting to peel off. Not cool since I've waited 4 1/2 months for my kit.

Re: superlift install horror stories
granted all these problems may be true, i would'nt be suprised if these were all very true....but after they were fixed, i havnt had a single problem since,
the lift in my mind has been well worth it. |
