What rout are you taking, I'm near the 60 and 15 freeways.
You can bring it but it just doesn't count as a female attending the get together (according to my wife). Try to keep the squeaking down for those of us who won't be bringing our own love dolls along. ![]() |

Re: S-10's at PISMO DUNES, PLANS FOR SUMMER
i wouldnt suggest venturing out into the dunes, but you could at least drive out to the beach and do the camp site. also, if you have tow hooks in the front, you have nothing to worry about, theres always people with tow straps. and if you have a limited slip posi or locker in the back you should be fine. |

Re: S-10's at PISMO DUNES, PLANS FOR SUMMER
basically just food, drinks, and firewood Ill be bringing a small table top BBQ and tri-tip as well as a bunch of other crap to eat....dont know how many it will feed. I think everyone is going to have to bring their own tents, ect. but someone with a truck is going to have to bring the firewood. Bunion Brothers Tree Service in San Luis Obispo will let you load up your bed with OAk for $40 that should last the whole night Bunion's is on Broad Street in San Luis, its probably the best bed since no one wants to lug that much firewood very far. last time we almost filled a rangers bed, and it lasted us till about 5am.........after we put everything on at 4 to make a 6 foot flame Last edited by Svenson14 : 06-23-2007 at 04:37 AM. |

Im bringing my bbq grill and cooler, beers and meats, won't bring much food, dont wanna go shitting a lot My direction to Pismo Beach are basically whatever mapquest from Peoria, AZ to Pismo Beach, CA Im still figuring out when to leave, so can be fri noon or 5pm I don't mind going whatever route to meet up |

Re: S-10's at PISMO DUNES, PLANS FOR SUMMER
Alright Im open to bringing whatever, I take it that the BBQ Situation is covered so i wont bring mine. Since i have a blazer, i cant really bring firewood, but i can go buy meat, Hot dogs or Hamburgers. Since I am Under 21 I can not purchase Alcoholic Beverages, but i wouldn't mind buying Sodas or other types of drinks.
Also Who here has a Towing rope? Do i need to go out and buy one? Also How about a Air Compressor for filling tires? Also Most of you will be taking the 101 to get up there ( basically the only way) IF anyone is leaving on Saturday at about 1 I would love to meet up. Shoot me a PM And we can schedule. As far as the Firewood situation goes, we can probally organize that when we all meet up on the dunes. Probally all chip in some money to get $40 Worth of wood. |

Re: S-10's at PISMO DUNES, PLANS FOR SUMMER
As far as flags go, I am just going to buy one up there.
Im going to probally buy a 12V Compressor from Pepboys and a tow rope from pepboys since i dont have any tow hooks on my truck. I need the towing rope with two end hooks to attach into my Frame notches. I get off work at 12 Noon so ill probally get onto the 101 at about 1PM or so. It takes me about 2-3 hrs to get up there depending on the # of stops i take Definatly Looking forward |

Re: S-10's at PISMO DUNES, PLANS FOR SUMMER
you might want to bring a little bbq just in case, lots of food always sounds good as far as towing rope im sure people other will bring a few, its always nice to have your own. ---as far as the campground area, theres always a surplus of F250's with tow ropes who would love to show off and pull you out. you can air down there, and air up at almost any gas station. (CA state law says any amount of gas purchased and you get free air and water) , that and the cheveron is 2 blocks away and gives it for free. ---if you want an air compressor, i heard Costco sells a good one that plugs in to Cig lighter for $50 --and for firewood: who ever ends up doing it, i highly suggest NOT getting it at the beach. it will cost upwards near $100 bucks for wood to last the night bunions is much better for $40 for a truck bed full |

Re: S-10's at PISMO DUNES, PLANS FOR SUMMER
I'll be bringing
Quick Air air compressor Tools 3" wide 30' long Tow strap rated at 20,000 lbs CB radio and or walky Talkies Big Five Sporting Goods has some nice walky Talkies on sale for $39 if anyone is interested. Small $50 air compressors may work for an emergancy on a single 205/75/15 tire but burn up quickly when airing up 4 over sized tires. This guy was getting 3 to 8 uses from each one he's tried airing up 33/12.50/15 tires. He finaly broke down and bought a $400 twin headed Quick Air like mine because it was "cheaper in the long run". ![]() Do we have a meeting place yet? Onimun, what city are you in? As of Now who all is planning on comming up on what day? Friday 1 Onimun - 2 people 2 The Red Baron - 3 trucks with drivers. My 2wd S10 on 33s, one Toyota 4wd on 33s and one Chevy 2500 4wd on 37s. Don't know if you guys already mentioned this but where exactly does everyone plan on camping at when there? For those that have never been, everyone normally drives in the Grand Blvd. entrance and heads down the beach. While heading down, there is like a half mile of camping area and then usually a large sand dune that closes that section off. As you continue down the beach, each little area is about the same distance so you almost have these half mile long coves to camp in. It gets real busy there on the weekends so finding eachother will be interesting if you don't have GPS coordinates set up ahead of time. Trying to find everyone at night is even worse. A CB is a good idea but not everyone has one. I'll install mine into my camper for the hell of it in case anyone decides to monitor. Also, try to come and leave at low tide. If you get there during high tide, there is usually a river that forms right in the middle of the beach that will be impassible in a lowered truck. Search the web and you will see pictures of trucks and campers floating out to see in this river.

Re: S-10's at PISMO DUNES, PLANS FOR SUMMER
so where are all the guys that said they were coming when I first came up with this idea?
so far the only people that have chimed in lately are Omnium, What?, Red Baron, 86MCSS, Rompn, and Me. =6 There were like at least 5 others who said they would come at the beginning. Are there going to be more? Is there any way we can advertise this on s10 forum? or even better make this an official s10forum meet? the original idea was to make this a meet with a CRAP load of s10's Last edited by Svenson14 : 06-27-2007 at 11:27 PM. |

Re: S-10's at PISMO DUNES, PLANS FOR SUMMER
IMPORTANT TO ALL: Since I live Close I will probably be the first one there. Because this is MID JULY and just after 4th of JULY it WILL be crowded that weekend. So it will be a good idea to get there early and find a decent camping area for everyone. NOTE: PISMO does have a reservation system and it is probably "completely booked" by now, but Ive never understood the Importance of it. So I will do my best to find a Site that has enough room. I will probably PM my phone number two the few who will show up on Friday. As Far as directions, your on you own to get to OCEANO DUNES, but once your there: LOOK for an S10. On a side note i have 3 issues. One: is anyone bringing a trailer? I dont know what you guys all plan on doing with your crap so you might want to think about that. I'm not going to leave everything it on the beach alone (lets say a tent), if i drive into the Dunes On top of that Im not going to want all that crap in the back either. Its bad enough with the Sub Box. I guess I'll figure that one out on my own. I'll probably only drive on Sat. and use tent only on Saturday. Two: As many of you know, ive had issues with my front drive shaft. So, as im about to get my FOURTH front driveshaft put in, I dont know if im going to do much out on the dunes. my car doesnt seem to like sand due to the combination of Mud Tires and the stress on the Shitty DS. However, I will more than likely rent a quad to run out with you guys. Three: and I will also (more than likely) bring a video camera to get some hopefully good footage. |

Well, you can take me off of the list. I just found out late last night that the group I was already planned to go with is going over the 7th/8th weekend not the 14th/15th like I originally thought. Also, you shouldn't have to worry about getting passes to get in for the 14th/15th weekend. That is one week after the Fourth of July weekend so it shouldn't be too bad. |

Im aslo inviting quite a bit of friends, most are possibly coming up on saturday just for the camping. ( were kinda locals so we do they do this every now and then) #3What?(11pm-3am arrival estimate)- 1 truck 1 driver 2wd S10 with 3.5" spindle/AAL --------------------------- out of those people, it could possibly bring: s-10 blazer 8" on 33s s-10 single stock 2wd tacoma 4wd tocoma on 33s 94 blazer -non s10 non k5 isuzu trooper? zr2 pickup -------------------------all maybes #4 FoCk3r- Arriving Late On Friday Arriving Saturday #1 Onimun 1 Truck possibly 2 people: Arriving at about 3-4pm. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since i am the only one comming up on Saturday, I have decided that i will probally take off work and come up earlyier on Saturday so i can meet up with you guys. Persionally i dont think it will be too crowded since its the weekend after the weekend of the 4th. then again is there any non buisy weekend during the summer? Also I dont think that i will be going dune bashing with you all because i am running a stock blazer with street tires, SO i dont mind staying with the shit... I wont steal too much ![]() We need to get phone numbers from everyone and for security reasons expect a PM from Onimun Next week regarding this issue. And Svenson, if ya do get stuck ill pull ay out And like my weekly meets i will bring my Camera for full documentation ![]() Last edited by Onimun : 06-28-2007 at 04:17 PM. |

add at least one from blazerforum.com who said hed show, plus 3 more that i PMed that said their still planning on it and because this is sand, your stock blazer will do just as good if not better than mine, when i was stock with 29" AT i did better than i do now....in the sand. ..........but i make up for it in the mud and snow. Re: S-10's at PISMO DUNES, PLANS FOR SUMMER
Im sure some will evenutally go to town for food or something, since i doub tnayone wants to bring a weekends worth of food, unless they have a trailer of some sort. Our tradition has always been the iHop down Grande Ave, i might stop by there. Its up to you for tow rope, I may even buy one that way i never have to worry |
