Need Help Lifting a 1996 Chevy S-10 4X4 V6 Extended Cab

Hey everyone,
IM new to the forum and would like to lift my 96, V6 S-10 around 3" so I can clear maybe 31's. I'd like to do it the cheapest way possible, it's more for looks, than performance. I love the truck, it has 141k miles on it and runs like a clock.

Can anyone tell me the cheapest way possible? And IM not very mechanically inclined, is there a known place in the southern part of NJ, that will do this for me? And most likely, I would have to change the rims, correct?

Can someone help me out?

Thanks,
Kreig

Easiest and chepeast way would be a 3in body lift. Im pretty sure the 3in is availible for the 96s. Body lifts really arent that hard. You wont haveto change your weels, it will be a better fitment if you leave the stock wheels anyway. There is some Body lift info here ------->http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f134/4...t-kits-272896/

Where in south jersey are ya?

yeah, i second the body lift. best way to fit a bigger tire without raising your center of gravity too much, keeping costs down, and not having to replace parts on a regular basis.

IM in Barnegat TWP? It's Ocean County. Would you happen to know a place that would do the lift for me? Thanks for the info and help! PS- Nice Truck.

Never heard of it...Im from Vineland. I know one place here in town that was gonna do mine but I decided to do it myself. Look up Ideal Auto Body and Frame. I would call up some body shops and some places near ya. Im sure someone will be able to do it.

Are you sure? I seen on this forum under the post Geroge left me that there are some companies that make the 3 inch for the 96? What is the maximum size tire i can fit on there with a 2 inch? Thanks.

Re: Need Help Lifting a 1996 Chevy S-10 4X4 V6 Extended Cab

Hmm maybe it is only 2in

Performance Accessories, 1996, S10 PICKUP, CHEVROLET - summitracing.com

I wonder what happend to the 3in kits. Summit deosnt list any for the 4wds.

EDIT - I guess there is only the 2in for those years. I jsut checked PAs website.
