I know in the rugged ridge steering setup i just ordered, it has an attachment that is just like small ubolts to go around the drag link and a plate that bolts on to them with a stud on it, then you just attach the other end to the axle. I dont think a setup like that would be difficult to adapt to anything.

So non-ZR2s don't have them? Mine is shot, and its really annoying how much it bounces compared to when it actually dampened the bump. I could have sworn I saw one on my friend's '91 S-10, but I may have been dreaming....

I think the first gens had them and then only the zr2's in the second gen era.

true, but most 2nd gens have the mount on the steering bar, you just have to buy the kit from procomp or rough country

i know my brothers 95 4-door 4x4's both have the mount on the frame, but no hole in the center link for it.

i got rid of the stocker steering stabilizer and put a rancho in there and it's night and day! i reccommend anyone to definatly, if they can, put one in!

Seems to be good to read that a good thing can happen here. I hope that all things are well in this setup as the time progress and goes along.

Re: has anyone put a steering stabilizer on there veh..??

So has anyone used a specific add-on kit for an S-10 that did not have a steering damper OEM? My '98 S-10 has the bracket on the frame, but no 'hole'/ bracket on the steering link. I have seen a couple of kits that use an add-on bracket for the steering link, using U-bolts.

Anyone recommend a specific add-on brand of damper? the ones I have seen are the PROCOMP, Skyjacker, and RoughCountry. Does any kit fit or perform better than the others?

Re: has anyone put a steering stabilizer on there veh..??

I have one on my jimmy, I have the frame mount. I had to fabricate a mount for the steering linkage.

I have the rough country steering stabilizer kit.

Some pics
