bad cv????
i have a 01 4x4 blazer. im wondering if my cv is bad. The front of my truck is clanking and i can move the cv with my hand. idk anything about 4x4s. how difficult is it to replace.

if the CV joint is bad there should be alot of dark/greenish grease slung around the area

I went thru 4 remanufactured CV axles from O'Riellys. I finally got a brand new one.
Don't go to O"'Riellys and Don't get a remanufactured one. They are a pain in the butt to replace. |

There should be no play in the joints themselves. I just replaced my right side axle as the inner joint had about 1/2" of up/down play. Took care of my problems. |

i rplaced both cv's today. and somethng on the right side is notright still. its making a grinding sound now. and when i took the old cv out the axle shaft inside the tube slid out and has a bunch of play in it.
