Rear Spring ?

I have the sas with the rs44044's spring under as many of you know. for the rear i have the s10 leafs spring over. Factory pack was way too soft so i cut the eyes off a stock yj main leaf and added that in. Gave me nice lift but still way to soft in the rear. The springs are so soft i get horrible body roll offroad. Onroad i can controll it with swaybars. Off road i dont want to limit flex, but i need it more stable for sidehilling which is very common in ohio. Now that the long story is over any have a custom spring pack that they are running on the blazers that they like and is stable?

Re: Rear Spring ?

hmmm. maybe try a full size main leaf to stiffen it up some? Might just be trial and error for ya. I was doing research on a site that wrekd posted.

http://www.generalspringkc.com/index.php

The springs i were looking at swapping were the 52" 73-87 Chevy springs, it what every capacity ya wanted. Moves the axle back 1.5" is the only thing. I wouldn't mind thou. Hopefully this helps.

Re: Rear Spring ?

well im workin on another spring pack right now. i have the s10 main a second leaf from a 63" fullsize leaf pack and the second s10 leaf. i have to watch how many leafs i use so i dont go so high. I may add another s10 leaf into the pack and see how it works.

Re: Rear Spring ?

i am also looking at swaping in a diffrent leaf pack in the rear of my truck , iam going to try a set of 3/4 ton 2wd chevy 56s look like they flex grate but still are more firm then the s10 springs , i think that chevytec is running the 56s on the rear of his blazer and look to work really good.

Re: Rear Spring ?

i was thinking of running a set of fullsize leafs but im still spring under and have to watch my height. I think i am going to try to find a set of stock shackles and run a stock s10 pack with the fullsize leaf added in.

Re: Rear Spring ?

We use s10 bastard packs on are cherokee's to lift them, and to stiffen them up for towing and offroad stability. So I'm definatly no help here, I did read that fullsize dodge vans are sprung under and have a heavy spring rate.

Re: Rear Spring ?

Billak, I PM'ed you back.

But you gotta watch how much stiffer the rear pack gets. Otherwise the front will do pretty much all the flexing.

And like I said in my PM, that 3 leaf pack just wont hold up. You'll bend the shit out of them. Been there, done that
