Re: Project Whiplash
well, plans have changed.
the blazer is just getting a mild lift with the 1/2 ton axles. gunna do a spring under axle conversion on it, and use it as a DD. i wanna go fast and not be scared to tip over, AND i also am sick of the BS IFS. im starting to kill ball joints now, and ive already killed 2 idler arms haha! so the F250 is staying the same. im shortening the wheelbase about 2ft and putting a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire body on it haha! my uncle can get me a sunfire chassis for 50 bucks. no rust, no dents, mint. only the clearcoat is starting to peel a bit... haha! but 50 bucks is awesome! should be building this thing pretty soon haha! im going to be bringing out the 84 4x4 and going extreme with that! big engine in the box, divorced Tcase, big axles, big tires, 4-linked, crazy! haha! but yea, i want to solid axle swap the blazer and keep it a good daily driver. only gunna have like... 31's maybe 33's on it. |

Re: Project Whiplash
ok, so plans have changed again haha! this is the last time though. plan is to swap a fullsize solid axled frame under the blazer. gotta shorten it to get the wheelbase right, and ill be swapping the diffs to toyota diffs.
im hopefully picking up a 85 suburban rolling chassis this weekend to go under the blazer. i also bought a 1986 toyota pickup 4x4 a week ago, so ill be using that as my daily until i can get the blazer finished. im really excited to be able to finally start working on the blazer soon! its been too long! i keep killing idler arms, and i dont even ride that hard... i made a video of what i do with my blazer on a weekend basis haha 1:24 is when the good stuff starts Last edited by Golana : 10-28-2009 at 10:14 AM. |

Re: Project Whiplash
well, the blazer is ****ing up pretty bad... the transmission is going crazy... keeps jumping in and out of overdrive, and the speedometer drops to exactly half when it jumps out. the rpm's jump up by about 200. a new development today is that the speedometer jumps way up randomly...
wtf is up with this truck? |
