I would just get a new bed and fix the rest of the body, prerunner fenders don't really do it for me. That's just me though.

Re: Project: Fix to busted CV shafts & wheel bearings! 56k no no

yea, im torn between what to do. i could always buy just bed sides from the j/y and make my own bed.

costs would be around. (i think)
j/y front fenders = 120
j/y bed = 600
j/y tailgate = 100
BW flares = 400

those add up to 1220, again those are rough estimates.

glass fenders = 320
glass bedsides = 550
steel for bed = 250

those add up to 1120, that is just an estimate aswell.

so i guess it would cost about the same. i got time to sit on it & think about it.

I wouldnt go with the Boggers since its your DD. You'd probably only get 10k out of em. Id go with a 35 LTB. They look badass!! You already have Baja Claws. Maybe its just me, but I like to try out different tires.

I dont know what I would do about the bed. Another regular bed is pretty useful if you have to throw shit in the back. But heavier than the glass bed. I dont know, Id probably just get another bed from the j-yard.

Go for it! And if you are going to drive it on the road stay with the Claws.

35s + D30 = broken U-joints/axle shafts. Especially those boggers cause they're so wide.

Re: Project: Fix to busted CV shafts & wheel bearings! 56k no no

i think i want to build my own bed up.. i will still be able to throw shit in it, it will have a floor and sides.

baggey, there is a kid here running 37" boggers with lockers on his d30 jeep witha 4.6 stroker and has only broken a few ujoints. i would be fine with 35s for the wheeling i do

but i prob will go with claws, seeing they are quite a bit cheaper too.

I'm REALLY wanting a set of the new BFG MT's, but I don't like the price tag at all. They are ove $500 a tire for the 38's! My dad has a set of 37's on his Dodge and they are awesome. The worst one only took 3/4 ounce to balance.

x2... BFG's are a GREAT tire, but they're gettin a little out of hand with their prices anymore.

Why do you want to fix up the body? Trail trucks are supposed to be ugly and beat to shit, I always thought it was called "character"

x3.....but it takes them awhile to break in the side wall. The tire won't wrap at low pressure until after a few long rides.

They also recomend that you air each tire up to 40 or so psi when first mounted and drive on them for a couple of days (they come a touch smaller in diameter then advertised when new, and the compound they are made of actually streches(sp?) over time/use and will fill out)

I've looked into running them myself, and I am truly intertaning the idea of buying a set since the blazer needs new rubber

Re: Project: Fix to busted CV shafts & wheel bearings! 56k no no

prob going to be ordering these in a few weeks, i got my W2s back today soo time to file for taxes

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...359+4294836953

i really do hate summit, they take all my money

also, called tralior products the other day for the glass parts. i can get all 4 panels for 750 (which i thought is a good price).

so, 750 for glass.
900 or less for the boggers (35x14.5x15)
and 570 for wheels

new mods = 2220$

that'll make it like a completly new truck!

might also weld up the rear, how would i go about doing that with the POS LS in there? same way?

Ummm, you might wanna go with different wheels. 15x10's with only 2" backspacing and 35x14.50 Boggers It'll probably be wider than my truck.

I never ripped apart a gov-bomb so I couldnt tell ya if you can make it posi or not. Worse case you'll have to get a different carrier with spider gears. And then weld it up.

good call. dont think the flares would cover the tires? they are 6" flares over the stock s10 bedside & fenders.

i was also thinkin, i might buy 4 soft 8s and 4 weld on bead locker kits. hmm.
cause with a 14.5 tire i think i need at least a 10" wheel

I doubt it.

You dont NEED a 10" rim, but yeah, thats probably the best fit for a 14.50. My friend used to have them tires on 15x8's on his 4-runner. They were a pain in the ass to mount though.

I'm running 15.50" tires on 9" wide wheels,
so go for it. I really couldn't use a wider wheel since it's already 84"s wide, that and it really protects the wheels too.

Re: Project: Fix to busted CV shafts & wheel bearings! 56k no no

hmm. what a delima.

anyone has input?

i think my plan is to buy the boggers for 900 (im going to offer 800 first, seeing he has been tryin to sell them for 2 months) then, im going to buy new 15x10 cragar soft 8s, may also buy bead lock rings and make my own bead locks. then i have a friend interested in my wheels and tires (for 400$, which i think is a good price?) after i sell those, im going to buy my glass fenders and bed sides.

sounds like a plan?

Prices.
Boggers 800-900
Aero Wheels 243.80 (f the soft 8s, i want these. haha)
Bead lock rings 187.80 (still undecided)
Sell my current tires & wheels -400

so, depending on variables i would be spending 643.80 to 931.60
i think thats a pretty good price for 4 new boggers (only 20 miles on them) and 4 new wheels

The ONLY reason I ever liked 3rd shift was cause of the shift differential that comes with it.
