Project: Fix to busted CV shafts & wheel bearings! 56k no no

1999 GMC Sonoma Highrider SAS'd
Before:

Parts list
1991 Jeep Dana 30, steering linkage, front brakes
Chevy s-10 ZR2 springs
Parts fabbed up by me
Bench seat

My truck ended up with about 6" of lift over what it was at, so now i am about 9" higher than a stock Z. My dad, buddies, and I started this December 20 and pretty much finished it up today, December 27. I still need to do little odds and ends, but i am considering this finished. it is almost driveable.

Anyone want pics?. I dunno what to write in here. guess you ask questions and ill answer them.

Well since everyone else is being so nice I'm gonna go the other direction criticize. These are just some things I noticed so that you don't destroy all your hard work.
1. Your rear pinion angle doesn't look right
2. Your front shackle mounts don't look strong enough
3. (can't 100% tell from the pic) It looks like your front shackles are at a bad angle (not the 30 degrees Donahue was talking about)
4. Your drag link may get bent if you flex out completely

Thats all I can see right now, I'm eating pancakes so you don't have my full attention. But if you fix those things you'll be right as rain as far as I can tell. It looks good though!

thanks for pointing these out.
1. i am not sure on the rear pinion angle, i thought it looked good. but i wasnt exactly sure. i may have to toss a shim in it. we'll see.
2.yea, they are just chinsy 1/4 pieces of steel tacked to my mounts. i will be making better ones today (hopefully)
3. i am thinking that is so bad because the springs lose all the droop. it should be helped out when i add another leaf to the pack
4. im not going to do any 4 wheeling right now, my front brake lines are too short and no front d.s. so. its good for now, i want to do half highsteer

but thanks for being honest.!
and thanks for all to compliments guys!

im going to try to get it outside today for more pics. if i can gather up the rest of the parts

Any idea what you are doing for a front drive shaft? Your original one MAY fit, other than that you could probably make an XJ one work. When you add that extra leaf to your pack are you going to take out the overload leaf? When you say half highsteer are you talking about doing the WJ knuckle conversion with the larger brakes and dual piston calipers OR the bolt on crossover steer piece that I am doing from http://www.jb4x4.com/products.htm?

i seen a highsteer knuckle somewhere. hell maybe ill just do full highsteer. i dunno.

i have read the front drive shaft just needs lenghtened

may sound ghetto, but i just cut my overload spring on either side of my axle perch?

Your going to have to take the leaf pack apart anyways to add the extra leaf so you may as well take the overload leaf off while its apart. Full high steer for a D30 is pretty expensive unless you find one used. Whatever you do use let me know, if it's better than what I plan on it may be worth it.

Yes, if it gives you too much arch either shorten your front shackles or lengthen your rear ones to level it out.
