they are just stock mounts on the axle.. pieces of flat stock with holes in them is all basically.

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
I used the stock sway bar mounts on the u-bolt plates to mount the shocks on mine...the shock bushings slide right over them and bolt up with the original nuts and washers...then they go up to the frame in the stock shock location or my brother used the c-channel welded to the frame for upper mounts...

TFPETS: Can you snap some pictures for me?
Tim: Ok, I cut those off a while ago. . . Chris: I got 34/10.5/15 Interco LTBs from Summit Racing. They were $619 shipped. Do you still want one of my 33s? I'm using one of the good ones as a spare but your welcome to the other good one. |

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
That's not bad at all, the 33's I'm getting are going to cost me a hair over $700. The tires are only $500, but for $200 I get mounting, balancing, tire rotation, tire insurance (a wrench goes through it, they replace it for free) and a treadlife warranty for the life of the them.
And fvck yes I still want that spare ![]() |

Update. . . kinda?: So TWO of my 34s came in the mail today. I have NO idea why only two came. But they came today, early even. They were supposed to come tomorrow but someone decided that I needed two today. Oh well, they'll be mounted on Friday. I CAN'T WAIT!

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
this is what my brother did for upper mounts, the stock s10 uppers wouldnt work with his because he pushed the axle about 2 inches farther forward than mine so they wouldnt line up...I will try to get a pic of the lower mounts tonight...

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
Funny story ACTUALLY. I was rolling them across campus but one of them had a Summit Racing catalog taped to it. The catalog was making it not go straight so when I went to cut the tape off I had to straddle the tire to hold it still. So technically, I have mounted one of my tires. It was quite enjoyable.

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
Update: My third and fourth tire came in today. Once again I had to parade them across campus and into my Blazer. I actually think it's somewhat lucky they came two at a time because I don't know how well four 34s would have fit in my Blazer. On a side note the mounting may have to wait until Monday because I have to work all day tomorrow. We'll see what happens, I don't know if any place is open Saturday or not but I'll check.
Random thought while not paying attention in class: Did anyone here to have their exhaust relocated to clear the front drive shaft? It almost looks like I'll have to but I'd really rather not. Let me know! |

i think you can get away with running it how the exhaust is for now, just try not to compress your front left tire.. ?

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
So far I've only called two places. One place can't bend pipe so they can't help. The other place doesn't have an opening in their schedule until May 30th. I want to be wheeling in a week. This sucks basically. I'm gonna have to go like phone crazy on my lunch break tomorrow to get this done in time.

All you need done is the exhaust re-routed?
If so bring that shit to my place, I'll weld it up for you. |

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
Its not the welding thats the difficult part. It's getting a section of pipe cut out, then having a new one bent and welded in place with a GOOD weld.
Do you have a pipe bender? And I think it's your turn to come visit me! Actually thats a cool plan, come visit me and you can get your 33 spare and then we can go wheeling when the exhaust is done. |

Oh, so you're calling my welds shit, eh? I see how it is!!
![]() Why not just use autoparts store pre-bent sections? I made the whole entire exhaust out of mandrel pre-bent sections for both my Lumina and the pickup. What do you guys have for trails out there? Give me an address to google so I can see how much gas I'm going to be chugging at 8MPG ![]() Last edited by ChrisInVT : 05-02-2008 at 09:21 AM. |

Re: Project: 1995 s10 SAS
There are lots of trails out here actually. They range from class 4 really mild roads to some technical fun stuff.
And I don't know how your welds are, I've never seen them :P I didn't think of getting a pre-bent section, I also don't know exactly how much it needs to be bent. If anyone **cough** TFPETS **cough** could show me what needs to be bent that would help. I'll PM you my address |

What's the stock setup look like compared to that? is it the same as the 1st gens with the 2.8 (I'm assuming now)?

I have no idea what a 2.8 exaust looks like at the moment!? If the driveline goes between the exaust and the motor, then yeah its probably pretty close to the same...
