Dana 30 non disconnect front axle.. issues with transfer case

question: Is there a problem with putting in a Dana 30 non disconnect axle in for a SAS swap 92 S10. Have access to this unit for a swap. Does not having the disconnect effect the driveablity of the truck when the transfer case is in 2wd. Or is there just extra wear and drag on the components if the front axle does not disconnect?

Opinions? answers?

Thanks

With a non disco housing the front drive shaft will spin all the time, just like it does in the jeep it came out of... make sure your front drive shaft is balanced and its a non issue. Only negative may be a little less fuel mileage vs a truck with a disco housing or lockouts.

Cwhite did you even read the question? LOL

/\ /\ Well said. I have a D30 out of a 95 YJ and a locker so even with the disco my D shaft spins all the time. If you use a non disco just be sure not to lock the front if you are going to drive it on the street. I have heard of people having issues with it in 2wd and the locker locking at speed because of slick roads and causing steering issues.
