Brakes lost pressure

So I was driving down the road today, and my truck made a weird noise an the steering wheel swerved like one brake grabbed. Then all of a sudden I had no brake pressure. So I tried to get it home from the parking lot that it was in, sometimes it has alittle pressure, and others it has none at all. And on occation the right from brake grabs almost like abs is kicking in. I still have the abs box but no lines running to the front wheels.
Has anyone had this problem? Or any suggestions.

Re: Brakes lost pressure

first inspect all the lines for leaks and if none then loosen the steel lines after each unit, master cylinder and ABS unit, to check for presure loss when the pedel is pushed. fluid should squirt from the fittingswhen their loose and pedel is pushedd. just an idea???

Re: Brakes lost pressure

^^ do what they said. There are only a few parts to a brake system, especially if you cut out the abs.

Re: Brakes lost pressure

A wheel bearing can make the rotor rub on the brake pads as is moves during a turn or something. From how you described it I houldn't have thought is a bearing.

When I lift a vehicle with the jack on the control arm I first check tie-rod by grabbing front and back of tire and try to wobble it. Then ball joint by grabbing top and bottom and checking for wabble, but remember the weight of the car has to be on the control arm, with the jack under the arm. Its a good practice to get into, a general wheel instection. Being in the habit of toing that first when I work on a truck has saved me alot of time and also diagnosed problems in half the time. Most time the upper ball joint is bad on the stock suspension. Oddly enough I have not had to change a Wheel bearing on a S10, But have on 96 Olds Cutlass. I don't know just a little something to add!!
