98 chevy s10 sas

i started a sas project and got most of it finished. here are some pics before

Then i used a hpd30 in the front and a d35 in the rear i have a hp44 and ford 9" just incase. I used 95 stock chevy s10 springs, but i need to use zr2 springs in the front my steering linkage wouldnt reach even with a 4" drop pitman arm. the rear was just a simple springover then i added a ford ranger 4" block to level it out. but i have a promblem or more of a question will a jeep t case bolt up to the trans? and i dont know what for shocks to use.

there's the pictures let me know what you think. thank you

Not directly. Advance Adapters sells a kit to go from the 4L60e to a dana 300. You have to replace the output and and such..... I think it runs like $500 or so for the kit.

oh... that thing is tall man.... think it is gonna be a lil' too top heavy?

98, is your flat plate that your front shackle mount welded to the big angle iron?

shackle reversal because if you do go over a curb or a rock and when the springs compress it will pull your axle away from the rock

Re: 98 chevy s10 sas

1. the spring mounts look like they were just thrown on there
2. the tube isnt capped off
3. the end of the flat plate isnt ground
4. the rear has huge blocks
5. the doors are just cut apart
6. no cross brace on the front shackles
7. the front bumper is hideous
8. the rear front spring hanger has no side to side structure
9. god knows what the shackle hanger is made with
10. front and rear shackles look bowed outward.
11. front pinion angle looks too low.

sorry, just looks like a rush job to me. those just look like concerns to me, not being a dick. just stating what i think could use some work. dont be hatin

That's scary looking, don't take the criticism the wrong way, people are trying to help you so you don't destroy anything that could be prevented by doing something right the first time.

If you're too immature to take constructive criticism, don't post pictures of your hacked up piece of shit on the internet. What kind of responses did you expect? Be sure to update this thread when you take it out and start breaking shit so we can make fun of you some more.

Re: 98 chevy s10 sas

I'm no expert at building a solid axle setup, but the first picture it looks like the front shackles are crooked. Is that so?

Second, I think I'd use something a little more robust than a piece of bent steel for the front shackle hanger.

Third, shouldn't you consider cross-bracing the shackles? Side load happens, don't want it to twist the shackle off.

Whether it's "strong enough" or not, there are better ways to build, and you'd best heed the advice of the members here, they aren't making fun of you, they're trying to protect you and others from harm.

They just suck at diplomacy

I dont even know where to start after reading this thread, I would'nt even feel safe offroad in that thing .Now that the axle is in there and located ,at least half assed I would take the time to redo everything with a little bit more thought towards safety.

look at the second pic in post 31---two balljoint ends---he needs a jeep pitman so the drag link ball joint goes into the pitman. s10's have the ball joint built into the pitman.
