What to do now
Well i've got an 02 crew cab with most mods other than a 5 or 6 inch lift and need to figure out what to do next. Here's a pic for reference.
![]() Mods so far are: 2 inch body lift, 1.5 tbar crank, 1.5 lift shackles, boise spring works kit, rear air shocks, front bilstein, 31x10.5 toyo open country A/t's on soft 8's, KC daylighters in front bumper, Herculiner front and rear bumper plus side stripe, and ARE Truck cap. I'm trying to figure out what to do next because I can do some of the trails in my area, but there are a lot of harder ones that I would like to do but would not survive on. My next thought is that I probably have enough room for some 32x10.5 swamper TSL's and they would give me better traction. Then I could just wheel the piss out of it until I break enough IFS components i'm sick of it. Then I either go SFA or just get a different rig. I'm wondering if there is anything else to do for IFS other than a 5/6 inch lift or SFA. Because I don't see the point in spending the money on a 6 inch lift when I could just go SFA for basically the same price, but SFA would be a pain for me since I don't really have the shop for it, no welder, torch, etc. Oh yeah I go wheeling in the Red River Gorge area of Kentucky so if anyone on the forum is around here we should go wheeling some time. Thanks |

Re: What to do now
i have an 02 crewcab too. so far your pretty set for ofroading, if i were you id make/buy a set of rock sliders, and all metal skid plates (front oil skid, engine skid, tranny skid, and gas tank skid). i bought all but the front skid for $75 from my shop teacher
. then id mod your fender flares to be able to fit/stuff some 33's in your wheel wells. a 2" ground clearence increas along with the new "armor", youd be able to make it through alot of things. ive done everything but the rock slider, but im working on fabbing some now, and ive gone thro stuff i didnt think i could do. PS if you go thro water/mud, you might want to relocate the front/rear differantal vent hoses to protect your gears. heres a thread for trimming th fenders to fit 33's, they dont make the flares now but you can make the cuts to just the fenders and it looks good, http://www.s-10crewcab.com/og1/modin...dz/skidz1.html |

Re: What to do now
I 2nd the skid plates. The last thing you want is a rock/stump/etc in your oil/transmission pan. I put aluminum skid plates from a Blazer on my truck. It was one of my best mods, because they're chewed up pretty well - so that shows they're working
