the last owner backed into a retaining wall with it. Then i bought the truck in winter of 06 and the encap was all messed up. I didnt want to shatter it so i used a hair dryer to make it more pliable to pop the end cap out into shape. That didnt work so i unbolted it to bring it inside where it was warmer. Then I saw the dent.

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

i finally got some wheeling pics, went a few times but i remembered the camera this time.

this is on a hill with a couple of trails going up the side. theres some dips and ruts but nothing too crazy. each trail is about a 1/2 mile long.

usually i just go up to the top and go back down, then go up on a different trail. i got out to take pictures and i never noticed how much travel i had in the back. anyways, the pics

coming down

going back up

And at the top of the hill theres a little field

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

i did a tbar tweak today. did upper and lower balljoints and control arm bushings and i needed an alignment. so i figured what the heck, ill crank em.

i got about an inch and a half before the bolt wouldnt go in any farther. it settled to an inch after i drove it.

with the shocks aired up as high as i can (125 psi) the truck is perfectly level. 35.5" from the ground to the fender lip.

i will be getting some shackles soon so the back doesnt sag when i have a load or put the cap back on.

now the 30s look to small. i want 32s now. lol. but not for a while. the 30s are only 4 months old

and as always ill get some pics

dont worry about it the powder coat, its a 13 year old truck with 186k miles, theres rust on it and some more isnt going to hurt.

but the box was bashed up a little, but it was a 3000 mile trip. im just happy i got them.

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

I got the shackles on today

heres the old ones

and the truck

and now i want bigger tires, again

it wasnt too bad to install them, had to grind the head off of one bolt and beat it through the frame, other than that it was good, until i hit my lip with the breaker bar, oops.

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

just a quick update. We got are first snow 2 days ago and yesterday got into a little mishap. nothing too major. the snow was melting a little bit and it was starting to re-freeze. i am driving down the road about 35 in a 45 anticipating ice. i come up on a bridge and as soon as i am on it the back end breaks loose. luckily there werent any cars on the road because i went into the left lane. the bridge has a curb that sticks out about 6 inches past the guardrail. my wheel hit the curb and got pretty bad curb rash, but it kept me free from any body damage. i either bent something or knocked my truck out of alignment, my steering wheel is at 2 oclock when im going staight now. hopefully its not too bad. im gonna look at it tomarrow or monday to see if i can see if anything is bent. Overall i am very lucky.

ill get a pic or 2 of my rash on monday

And im thanking God for watching over me and my gf last night. it could have been a lot worse.

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

well, finally sold the 95 tonight. got 3k cash for it, more than i paid in 06 for it.

but i peeled the window tint off the 98, replaced the outside door handle, broke and replaced the inside door handle, replaced a water pump and 2 days ago i did the fuel pump.

This thing better stop needing stuff soon haha

and how to do a fuel pump:

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

just a bit of an update, got some wheels and tires for the z71. just some 16x8 mickey thompson classic II wheels and 285 75 16 bfg a/ts

and i also picked up an 85 k10, its going to get a little body work at the rockers and cab corners and around the wheel wells. my plans for it are a 6" lift, 35" tires, dress up the engine bay, and finally change the interior color so its not red

And this is my bosses truck, like it except for the wheels

same year, same color, both originally came with a 305, they both have 350s now

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

theres a link in my sig of the build so far, its the second one

but 6" lift. i did a lot of body work, i hate rust haha. new rockers, cab corners, 2 fenders, a panel in the bed

35x12.50 15 km2s

still some more work to do on the interior and then new valve covers, headers and full exhaust. maybe even an intake manifold and a carb
