Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

ehh... well make some new body mounts chris...lol.. and the slip joint stuff... now dammit...dont argue with me!.. u do too have to change steering stuff.. because the angle of the shaft with the angle of the steering gearbox is too extreme....this is one of the many flaws of doing bodylifts and why they are not recommend...extreme wear on steering components due to angles of lift!....HAHAHAHAHA....Im totally bullshitting ... if someone actually beleived that.. im gonna tell them to go change their muffler bearings and getta new Keneutten Vavle ...

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

home for lunch real quick

got lots of pics but there on the camera and the cameras not here now

i got the bed done, wasnt too bad.

what really pissed me off was the fuel filler extension. the clamps were facing the wrong way. what i should have done was bought extra clamps and just cut the old ones off. but no, i had to waste my time for an hour trying to get them off, then i finally jacked the bed up about 8 inches and got em with a screwdriver.

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

Shoulda just took the bed off like i did ...that is if u had an extra helper there with you...I took care of the rusty fuel line potential problem.. totally gobbed a shit ton of greased around the top of the pump.. ... no more worries on destroyed rusty lines upon removal when needed ....Vortec Pumps are NOT cheap... last one i bought for my old CPI'd truck was 400 some dollars if i remember right...i dont know.. coulda got it cheaper prolly.. but i needed one then.. not 2 days from that time... so yea.. save urself a long run headache and wallet destroyer

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

ok heres the pics

heres some before pics from yestersday

Starting out today

hitch, bumper, and tailgate removed

i guess the last owner backed into something, couldnt of picked a better place to back into something.

I hate this with a passion now, that was the hardest part of the lift, getting those hoseclamps off. they were all pointing the wrong way.

Start of the bed

Now the bed is done

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

Starting the cab, got a nice pile of parts

the good, the bad, and the ugly

halfway done with the cab

the hitch was really rusty, so it was wire wheeled and primed, but it wont be painted until tomorrow, so i didnt want to put the bumper on and adjust it just to take it off to pit the hitch back on, so after some screws to hold the plate it and some duct tape for the lights, it was street legal. lol

ill have the finished pics tomorrow

haha, yea. i went to start the truck. and it was idling at 2500 rpm. so i checked to see if the throttle cable was binding, so i took it off and put it back on, well i put it on backwards then, so it was actually full throttle. after that i figured out i forgot the brake booster hose. after that it was a simple fix

and 92 Rustbucket was the guy that helped me this afternoon

the throttle cable was fine, i took it off and put it back on thinking it was binding, but the reason it was idling so high was the brake booster hose came disconnected cuz it was too short

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

HAHA! I said the same thing when I did all my "lifting"... And trust me. With only shackles your truck (when in park) will look level. And when driving will look like its sagging in the back! I thought that shackles and add a leafs would be too much also. But I have 1.5 inch shackles right now and my truck sags.

But its cool. You can do it in stages if you want! Like I say man! You live you learn!

Just a heads up for what to expect thats all!

oh, ill see what happens. after i do the shackls and tweak, i guess ill fill up the airshocks the whole way and if thats not enough, time for add a leaf

will the airshocks still work with the shackles? would they still work with shackles and add a leaf?

the air shocks should work just fine with shackles. i'm still runnin stock shocks in the back and they work just fine even when flexed out all the way. the only difference is you might have to run a lil more air in the shocks than you would if you didnt have the shackles

once they extend all the way, they will just pick the axle off the gound. its a little hard on the shock, but i do it all the time.
