No to the 15x8's with 4.5" being better. I can't tell exactly what tires you're running, but they're fairly tame... and look to be about 235's. If you want to run a somewhat aggressive 31" tire, you need to keep your tires more inside the wheel well to prevent them from rubbing. Just because you don't rub now, doesn't mean you won't with the 31's (in fact, i can almost guarantee it, espescially with the flares... even with the BL).
ok thanks

yes you were right, i have 235 75 r15 now.

I would like to go 31x 10.5 r15

so you think i should still go with the 15x7 with 4.5 bs?

Yeah, i do. Your tires will be quite a bit wider anyways, so it'll gain you a bit of a wider look that you're probably going for.

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

Yeah it looks pretty good, just like ZR2 flares, except not that spectra gray color (I want them black, so I'm jealous) the dealership told me how new the tires were, still had the fuzz etc, except they're the cheapest 31'' you can buy! only have 2k on them, but I want to change them anyway long before the 40k mark they're ment to last.

I want to go with the BDS 5'' suspension lift, but I was starting to think that'd be to tall of a truck for all the daily driving it'd be doing, and just weekend trails. I wish there was a 2-4'' suspension that was durable

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

For tires look at Jeep Forums online. Guys are CONSTANTLY unloading 31s for cheap. If you shop around you can get used ATs for very reasonable. Also look in craigslist and other want ad stuff. Lots of guys get 31s then upgrade with barely breaking in the tires.

You can get steel wheels with any offset you like, look around online but there are tons of companies that provide them. You can easily get 4 15 x 8 steelies with custom offset for probably around $200. Or again, look for a used set.

Body lift you will have to pay retail probably. But for the other stuff, shop around and get one thing at a time as you find deals.

With a little less backspacing pushing the tires out hopefully you won't get alot of rub.

yours was an auto, right?

because they didnt offer the cpi with a 5-speed. i wish they did.

which reminds me

i have a 5- speed and i dont wanna cut the console.

I haver this one now

but if i have to i can switch to this one only the one at the bottom, I dont have the armrest part anymore

So, i know the first console isnt going to work unless i cut it or if i make some kind of adapter that moves the shifter forward about an inch.

does anyone know the thread size and pitch of the shifter threads that come out of the trans, im assuming its metric.

haha, but i would like it to look halfway nice on the interior. but that does make it easier to fill up the tranny with fluid. easier than using a hand pump. lol

but im pretty sure the threads for the shifter are M14, but i dont have a thread pitch gage. i guess ill go buy one.

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

Glad you worked everything out with jigg. I advise you listen to his statement about the BSing on the rims.

I have a 4x4 blazer with a 2" BL. 1.5" shackles and 1.5" torsion bar tweak and I rub on 31,10.50,15 Cragar Soft 8s with 4" of BSing... And Im on an AT not even a MT. I sudgest you go with 4.5 BSing because those beautiful fender flares will be junk the first time you hit a nasty bump and RIP them right off the truck.

How my truck sits.

Hope I could help!

how much do you rub?. a little or a lot?

can you get some close up shots of the fenders with your wheels turned at full lock?

and btw, your blazer is, but i have to say i liked your old truck better

Re: Look what Fed Ex brought me

Thanks man! Im glad you like it! Lemme see what I can do with the pics this weekend! I wont be around my dads digital camera until sat. but my mom might have one burried somewhere here! I rub pretty bad! I did NO trimming but I DID hit the corners of the fenders with a sledge hammer and take the 2 bottom fender bolts out!

Like I said Ill try and take pics ASAP!

its going on tomorrow. im gonna do the bed in the morning(or try too). and i got a friend helping me in the afternoon with the cab.

I pre labeled all the bolts and hardware an put em in ziplock bags so i dont spend all my ime looking for bolts tomorrow, and i found out there was one bolt missing for the fan shroud.

I dont think its gonna be to bad tho. i mean im going to school to be a mechanic. it should be cake, but im worrying about breaking a brake line or something

and there will be pics of it being installed. someone got a camera for xmas, so no need to steal my brothers.

If you wanna minimize the rubbing I would go with 5in BS. I have that on my Blazer with a 2in BL and small t-bar tweak and I barely ever rubbed. I dont think the .5in difference between 4 and 4.5 is gonna do it.

don't worry about it, I did mine when it was about 30* outside and all the lines bent out of the way just fine. Also I didn't put the lower shroud back on my truck.

i knew all that, i read the directions about 20 times, lol. but i dont have to do anything with the steering though. the 95 and newer trucks have a slip joint and the 94 and earlier trucks didnt. thanks

Yeah anytime you go with a wheel with less BS your going to have that problem; the closer to stock the least amount of rubbing you will have. A hammer will not fix the rubbin issues that comes with 4 or 4.5 BS.

I have a metalworker (co-worker's husband) coming over Saturday to take a look at my mounts and give me whatever options he can think of to take 'em off. I'll shoot ya a PM sometime this weekend
