Lifting my Blaz.

OK os I'm starting this early but only so that I remember.

Project is my '94 Blazer
Plans are 31x10.50 15's(going procomp A/T's)
replacing the rear springs since whoever owned it before me removed one leaf from the 4-leaf pack so now I only have 3 there.
putting in rear shackles(getting the ones from Oreilly's for temp so I know how much I will need)
Cranking the T-bars in the front.
replacing the rouch contry shocks with monroe reflex in front and the sensatrac overloads in the rear.

I will post up pics and also the height differences as this moves along. Should be done sometime in Sept from my budget.

Re: Lifting my Blaz.

Just an update, got my new leaf springs the other day, just got a call from my tire dist and those are in now too. Still have to make it to get the lift shackles and shocks yet. Actually started rethinking my shock selection.

The HD towing package was to have 4 from my understanding cause this thing sits way lower then any other 4x4 in my area. And trust me those have nothing done to them either.(rusted out and can see inside them. LOL)

Re: Lifting my Blaz.

So got my lift temp lift shackles today and have some questions. they are the generic ones from Oreilly's the superior automotive 13-4000.

they are 10" in total length
they have 3 adjustable options @
5.5", 7" and 8.5"

what is the length of the factory ones and how mych lift will I get based on these #'s???

Re: Lifting my Blaz.

yeah, if you want to lift with shackles, say you want 2" of lift... youll have to make the shackle 4" longer from bolt hole to bolt hole, becuase your only lifting one side of the spring.

Re: Lifting my Blaz.

Well here's an update

before:
the way I got it with 235/75 lt15's

After:
New 4 leaf springs, a tbar crank(guess I need new t-bars) and my new 31X10.50 LT 15 Procomp A/T's

I'll have my measurements up later.

Re: Lifting my Blaz.

So. I didnt add lift shackles. and here is my measurements for those out there.

before with 235
FL FR
32.5 33.5
RL RR
31.5 32 1/8

with just the 31's added
FL FR
33.5 34.25
RL RR
32 3/4 33 1/8

And finally with the new leaf in the back and adjusting the t-bars a bit
FL FR
34.5 34.5
RL RR
35 35

I dont mind the rake and actually prefer it as with a trailer it sits level. I do know I need new t-bars as the one that looked the best and had some paint left on it was week as hell and I have no adjustment left on that. I do need new shocks yet too and still deciding on them yet. Will be getting an alignment as soon as I get the shock put on and will have them confirm the ride height then too.

So all in all with this I got 2" in the front and about 3.5 in the back. based on these measurements

Thnx, now IF only it could have gone higher. Thinking new T-bars next year(hopefully ZR2 bars will work out) and will probably have to add lift shackles too then.

Re: Lifting my Blaz.

Just an update.

Just ordered a set of PP Ball joints for the front. And will be running monroe sensatrac shocks. Rears are going to be the overload set with the spring.

Re: Lifting my Blaz.

Well here's and update just got the new Ball Joints installed and new shock thing rides much smoother and the back end gets a bit brick like when less then 1/2 tank of gas. Have to get it aligned yet and will get some new measurements up since the rought contry shocks I was able to compress one handed on all 4 corners easily and they didn't rebound @ all.

And 95, check out husky spring. The new 4leaf made a good 1" lift in the back, no lift shackles for me.
