Yes... ALOT. I know for a fact he actually had to trim his rear body mounts because when the wheel was tucked it would rub on the mount perch...

how much one of those 5" lifts cost? i want to lift my blazer but i have NO clue where to start on a IFS gm truck.

ive had three thoughts on this blazer
1. remove all 4wd parts and make drag blazer(stupid but oh well)
2. lifting the ifs(even though heard horror stories about weakness of gm ifs)
3. doing big $$$ SAS

someone help?

Re: lets see your LIFTED ifs rigs

For everything to get a good body lift and a qualality suspension lift its gonna run you. Id say im not sure but i think the BDS lifts are anywhere up near 1000. Body lifts are about 150 200 and for all the other little odds and ends another 100 or 200 bucks. Your best bet would be to look around at local scrap yards for axles or on forums and doing a sas. I prefer the ride and you dont have to worry about changing parts every now and then on a IFS, such as cv boots.

Re: lets see your LIFTED ifs rigs

Its not really lifted, but thats all im missing. 97, 4.3, auto, k&n filter, aftermarket tranny cooler, dual exhaust (imco muffle i think, great throaty sound for a v6) custom front bumper i built and custom roll bar (originally for a dakota, but bought for $25 snd hacked it up to fit) 30 9.5 wildcat ats (great wearing and good for the off roading i do when huning and what npt) shoulda got 31s, no problem rubing

lol yea thats pretty much the status. except i replaced the stereo...but that doesnt really count.

as for then, it was a 6" superlift, 33x12.50 tsl radials, 15x8" cragar soft 8's. I dont remember if that picture was before or after the 350 vortec swap.

since then it has gotten a sfa swap, 4 link front and rear, 35x12.50 wildcat EXTs, 15x10 cragar soft 8s, and a turbo 350 tranny. and as bubbagt57 said, the front and rear axles have mismatched gears and my front driveshaft is broke since i have no place to work on it.

I'm planning on doing some body work on it (looks way better in the pics) after that I am going to get the 4x4 working again, the front diff is actually out of her cause it seized up so just a big 2wd right now I was going to find a 2wd chassis and bag and body it but thanks to this thread I have some inspiration for keeping it 4x4.
