IFS trouble

I've been hearing my IFS bottom out a few times, without doing anything really extreme to it. I pulled my front wheels off to check my brake pads and clean the rotors and noticed a smooth spot on the driver's side lower control arm where the bump stop has been hitting it. What should I try to fix this? The front shocks are gas, and have about 20k on them. Would turning the torsion bar a bit help this?

While it would definitally help it alot, you should find out why they are loosened (which it sounds like is the issue.) It could be the bar itself is just getting old and weakened. If that is the case, tightening it up would help, but might cause it to break easier. Perhaps replacing them might help.
