4x4 help for newbie!
Ok folks has you can see i am new to this!! So please bear with me! Living in this great place I do, Northern PA. we got our first snow of the year today so I thought i would engage the 4x4 and prepare for the 7 monthes of winter Im sure we will have!!! Anyway the 4x4 kicked right in, I can tell by the lovely sound mine makes when engaged, anyway when I hit the button to disengage ,of course the lights switched,but I could still here the t-case was engaged and then about two miles later I heard a very loud thud or bang and then the t-case disengaged!!! can anybody tell me what I might check for??? And yes I tryed it again and got the same result maybe not two miles but it took awhile and again made a loud noise at disengagment!!!!! any help would be great!!!! sure do fel a LONG winter coming on!!!! I usually back up a few feet after I disengage the 4x4. It works for me and in some owners manuals its part of the procedure.

yep, yep but you might wanna check the vac switch on top of the t-case. If you pull it off and there is tranny fluid in it it will cause this problems plus many more.

Thanks for the help guys! Ill give her another look!!! Guess if it bangs long enough Ill know what it was! LOL
