2 inch suspension lift installed

i curently have a 2 inch body lift with 31's no rubbing problem because of my 4.5 backspacing rims... but i wanted some 33x10.5 whice wont rub because i did some tiral and error, after the 2 inch suspension lift. But the thing that puzzles me is why my tires are leaning in with the 31's still... And i dont wanna put the 33's on and wear them out like i did with my old tires... 2 inch rough country lift says its supose to correst the angle, which it did a little bit. But my keys arnt even close to being cranked all the way which i dont want to do. Maybe a camber kit will help?? Minimum lift with rc lift is 21 inches from center hub to bottem fender, 23 is max. So i measured and added 2 inches for the body lift and im at 23.5 inches which is all i need to 33's.

The bars are cranked too much if an alignment cant correct it.

Re: 2 inch suspension lift installed

Well im gunna install new camber plates and see what happens. For the most part they are no where near as bad before the suspension lift.. They only need to come out a tad bit to be perfect. But i will post some pictures of my current progress tomorrow

Re: 2 inch suspension lift installed

I want to order some step bars, and a grille guard, im thinking chrome. What would look better? A full grille guard that wraps around the headlights, or a light bar that mounts on the bumper?

Re: 2 inch suspension lift installed

you need to get an alignment... you can just throw some new upper arms on there, then crank the torsion bars and expect it to be perfect. anytime you adjust ANYTHING suspension wise, or change a part, its going to throw the alignment off.

Re: 2 inch suspension lift installed

I just got a 3 inch body lift for free tonight, that a kid gave me. It is brand new, he never used. I currently have a 2 inch bl. Will i need to do any linkage modding or anything with a 3 inch? I figured since i have the bed already off, may as well do the 3 inch. For the 2 inch bl i got a bunch of stuff to extend things, but i didnt even need em. I just used the blocks and the new bumper brackets.

Re: 2 inch suspension lift installed

What year is you T/A? My friend just bought an 81 for 2500. It's got an oldsmobile 455 and a turbo 400 but the whole car needs to be rebuilt. Nothing is hooked up but it's project so it's ok. I wish I had some pics of it. He wants to supercharge it to get it from the 500 hp the guy said the motor was dynod at up to 700+!

No he didn't that's why I put "he said" it had 500. I'm pretty sure he was lying because the more we tear into it looks pretty stock. But we are still working on getting everything straight to try and crank it for the first time. Either way we will be putting a set of cams in it and a new carb (either Edelbrock or Holley) once we get it running. I told him he's crazy for wanting 700 hp anyway considering he's only used to driving his '06 Charger with a v6.

Re: 2 inch suspension lift installed

33's with just a 2" body lift and a 2 inch suspension lift? even with some trimming it's going to be tight. My ZR2 came came with 31's from the factory and I installed a 5" lift kit and did a t-bar tweak and mine rubs at times @ the rear of the front fender.

Re: 2 inch suspension lift installed

Here is a picture with 31's, the 33's should make a tab bit higher of a stance. With my back spaced rims, and i kinda modded the back bottem of the fender with a hammer. When i had the 33 on up front i had no rubbing issues, so now im an inch safer.

Re: 2 inch suspension lift installed

I need to raise the back bumper an inch also. I got the 2 inch bl back bumper brackets on. So what i think ima do is drill the holes an inch lower so it makes up the inch difference. Thats the least of my worries at the moment tho.

Re: 2 inch suspension lift installed

im just gunna wait until these tires wear out, then i think im gunna do a 5 inch trailmaster lift ontop of what i have done now. Not sure yet, but i do like the stance now. Im gunna dress it up nice with a full front bar chrome, step bars, tonneau cover with a chrome roll bar, built in winch, and prolly some nice tail light guards, and a bumper guard. Then for rims im gunna do some nice black beed locks.

I installed a 2 inch rough country suspension lift, and went from a 2 inch body lift to a 3 inch body lift. The wheels are 15x8 cragar wheels with 5 inch back spacing.

No rubbing at all, from what i can see. Did a lil offroading, with the wheel cut all the way, everything seems to fit very nicely.

He has a 4wd so clearance is a bit difference.

I'm surprised you went with 5" Backspacing instead of 4" then you can even fit wider tires if you wanted.

Truck looks good nonetheless

Re: 2 inch suspension lift installed

The A-arms that came with the rough country lift were cut and extended to push the camber out more, which pushed my tires way out. Which in return allowed me to crank the bars more to bring the camber back in. So really i got a little more out of the lift, with lots of thread left on the torsion bar bolts

Yeah you can get more than 2" sometimes, But now look at your cv boots. They are probably pinched together and they will wear themselves till they rip.
