Re: what brand for idler arm??

almost 70,000 now. but i hear the idler arms do go quick on the s10's. I read that somewhere. assholes at the alignment shop wanted to charge me 300 dollars to replace idler arm and center link. lmao!!! i laughed at them and walked out. i can install myself. parts together problably no more than 100 bucks together. after I left the shop I took it to a buddy and he said idler arm is bad but center link is fine. but i might just replace center link when I do the idler

Re: what brand for idler arm??

On my 4wds ive always used trw or moog without problems. I think my 2wd with the 33s has the orginal idler. At least thats what the shop that did alignment thought. They said it was ok. Mines got 156K on it.
Yeah get moog or trw. I was told they are made at the same place. I just dont like the sending away for parts.

Re: what brand for idler arm??

Im thinking of buying the idler from Power performance. if not, then ill go woth the moogs. if I go with moog, the good thing is if i have to replace it i can go right back to advance auto and show them my (copied receipt) and get new one! like you said then I dont have to send out part

Re: what brand for idler arm??

CSK Auto for me, last longer than Moog. No sway bar = idler arm killer Definitely bit beefier than stock, there's a fella in 4wd making one for 4wd, if there's enough demand, may make them for 2wd as well.

Re: what brand for idler arm??

I know some 4wd guys use k1500 idler and pitman. Never seen if any half ton or bigger would fit our 2wds.

You know i was thinking of something and its probably been thought of before. But when i bought my truck it needed tranny work. Instead of rebuilding it, I should have looked at the idea of swapping in a tranny and transfer case from a 4x4 s10. Eventually iD LIKE TO sfa ANYWAYS. bUT FOR NOW, Id at least had a low range.
