Operation Ho Getta
Ok,
As most of you know I have a 00” S10 that I am building for dezert fun miles only (avatar) and my DD is the Ho Getta. It is a 95 2.2 5 speed Sonoma. I am going to start to give it a slight hint off road flavor. No, this is not going to be a prerunner, already have one of those and I need to keep the bed space and such for my DD duties. So here are my plans - Front and rear prerunner style bumpers built by yours truly (HDF) - 215/75 R15 BFG Road Kings - Aim Spindles - HID’s - Good Emulsion shocks Check out the pics. I already have the mounts made for the front bumper and I will probably make the mounts for the rear bumper this week. Also are pics of my workshop (HDF). When I make bumpers and such I like to cap off the ends. It makes it look more finished. Also included is a pic of Ma baby Ok, As most of you know I have a 00” S10 that I am building for dezert fun miles only (avatar) and my DD is the Ho Getta. It is a 95 2.2 5 speed Sonoma. Re: Operation Ho Getta
Oh ya I forgot the one of Ma baby. Right now it is at Metul Munkys and he is going to do some upgrades to my front suspension like adding FOA Hydro Bumpstops and other bells and whistles.

Re: Operation Ho Getta
89,
YUP, YUP, that is a correct statement and I am thinking of buying the wife a Colorado because she says she wants a truck again. She currently drives a Hyundia Accent. So with that said, 4 of 5 of my vehicles will be a Bowtie!! |

Re: Operation Ho Getta
Damn Tim great to hear from you again. YUP, YUP that would be my shop (High Dezert Fabrications). My skillz have been kicking ass lately. I have recently upgraded to gas (75/25) and it took me a while to get it down. To me, it was alot different then just plain flux core. You have to get the proper gas (argon) pressure. I live in the dezert where the wind blows all the time and with gas as you know, you have to have ZERO wind to be able to lay down a correct bead. Also trying to maneuver that big ass brass tip on the end of the gun also. Ya being able to fab for yourself is a money saver. Also I have made several bumpers and such for some for my Dezert Dime bruthas. Check out "Matt93" build on here and I built him a kick ass front bumper and rear bumper/sparetire setup. I cut them awesome deals and all that money goes back into tube and other supplies and tools. Thanks again for the props brah.

Re: Operation Ho Getta
Hey lookin good Bruce, and thats with no formal training right? It looks like the welds are laying down nice (about the right heat). It does look like your going just a tad quick, the bead looks like a row of half moons, try just a **** hair slower were looking for cresent moons or a row of c's over lapping like them arms MM made for ya. I'd say your on the right track, its all about practice, practice, practice, and don't be afraid to play with the settings on the machine!

Re: Operation Ho Getta
hey Bill,
Thanks for the comments, ya Jeffro (MM) always tells me to slow down but he says that there is nothing wrong with half moons as long as you have good coverage and good penetration. Nope no formal training, just classes and motivation from Metul Munky. Not too bad as jeffro says because I have only been doin this for less then 2 years and you are right, practice, practice and more practice is the key. Re: Operation Ho Getta
Well I was able to put the flowmaster on last saturday, new tires last Tuesday and put the spinldes on last wednesday. All that is left to do is put on the HDF bumpers, new shocks and cut the departure angle. CORVA is putting on a dezert clean-up at the barstow racetrack tomorrow, so it will be it's virgin voyage to the dezert. But have no fear, no mobb'n will be done for it is my DD and i already have a dezert proven dime. I will takes pics and post them shortly

Re: Operation Ho Getta
What ya it was and awesome time. We did our share and picked up a lot of trash. I didn't take any pics, forgot my camera. If you go on
www.clean-dezert.org you will see the pics. I don't think that they uploaded this years yet, but if you go to raffle winners from last year, you will see Metul Munkys mug holding up the DMZ $300 raffle he won last year. Go to DD and the '"dezert cleanup" thread and you'll see what he did to his truck. After that he fixed and ended up ripping off a UCA mount from the jumps he did. The jump videos are on that same thread. OK back on subject. last night I constructed the front bumper mounts, welded them on and tacked on the bumper. My internet is down (damn verizon) so i will post pics as soon as I can. |
