Re: New pics of lift and ...

I trimmed the rear of the front fender back 2" also. I did that before i had the tires. Just wish i had a good set of tires. But still job hunting.....
How do you think the frame exposure looks wit the 3" body lift. Some say how its so ugly.

Even though you are doing just the 2" body lift, you may still be able to fit 33's. You may just have to trim a little further. I trimmed 2" back. Could go another 1"

Re: New pics of lift and ...

How did you mount up your hitch? It looks really low. I need one to haul the boat and I really dont see any good mounting spots other that the end of the frame rails. I may just ditch the ugly rear bumper and fab my own with a built in hitch.

Re: New pics of lift and ...

Yeah its at the end of the frame rails. The hitch is one of the reese univeral ones. I bought it about 4 years ago cause walmart had it clearanced for 15 bucks. Finally decided to make it fit on the truck. Had to drill holes in frame for it. There are different mounting points for the heigth of it.
The bumper is on the way of mounting higher. Plus with the lift its at a nice heigth if i get rear ended and good heigth for trailer i occasionally use.

I put on a 3" body lift, 3"spindle Lift and 2" lift coils. Did a SOA in the rear. I have 2" spacers front and rear. Would like 3" in the rear so the the rear wheels would be in line with the front. 3" spacers are EXPENSIVE. SO went with 2" all way around. Wheels are 15x9 with 3.5" back space. Tires are some not such good shape 33x12.50x15's. Getting me by till i find a job. Been off since mid december.
Did trim the fenders back 2" inches on the rear or the front fenders.. Tires do lightly rub the body mount behind the front wheels at full lock.

Re: New pics of lift and ...

Looks good, frame exposure always sucks but oh well, whatever works to fit without LT. Your rim spacing looks good, you shouldn't really worry about an extra inch because with job, you should able afford to buy ZR2 rear end(4" wide per side AND 3.73 gearing).

You should powdercoat these rims to black(when you get a job), make rims less hidious(even though these uglies do provide a lot less backspacing which is a plus).

Be sure to inspect bushing, balljoints, any part to replace/fix. Keep up the good work!

Thanks. Yeah i did a 2 inch once on a 2dr jimmy i had and regreted it. I also dont think the frame exposure is ugly. I like.

Seriously debating it. Although i think id need 4.56's . The gearing is the problem. I cant change them and its ridiculously high to get them swapped. While the 3.42s are tolerable with 33s I dont think it would be with 35's. PLus i would have to do something about the body mount behind the front wheels. I have min rub with the 33's on the mount.

Actually i think they are older than that. But i like them and they were CHEAP enough. I only have about 25-2600 in the whole truck the way it sits. So im happy with it. That includes the rebuilt tranny. Yeah need to get in some mud. Kind worried about getting stuck and having to use the 4wd jimmy to try and pull it out. Jimmy is on street tires, so i dont know about that.

Re: New pics of lift and ...

I retract my statement, what I meant was body gap always looks bad. Nothing wrong with frame exposure, Blazer has MORE frame exposure due to taller frame.

Rims are in the early 90s, I remember these on lowrider all the time back in early 90s.

Like I said, it'll look tits painted black.

I wouldn't run 3.42 with 35s, even on fullsize with 35s, re-gear is common. 4.56 will be good.

Other alternate choice would be swapping in fullsize, axle, definitely much wider, stronger. 8.8 is becoming common and great to get due to inexpensive cost and commonly found in local junkyard with many Fords.

Re: New pics of lift and ...

LOL yeah i was thinking the wheels were from right after high school. But hey i got the CHEAP. CHEAP CHEAP. Actually i like the 90's wheel. I think they look ok on the 90's truck. LOL
Re gear will be the thing that puts the hold on 35's. Unless i find someone who really knows how to do it and will physically help.
All that will be after and if ever i find a job. Unemployment is starting to get old.

Find a job old man lol. Come up to silver lake in the spring I'll help ya with the regear. Or I might be headed down south to pick up another 70's ramcharger/trail duster body or whole truck around the first of the year, could always do a gear swap in transit.

Man ive been trying to find a job for monthes. the last 3 ive actually really tried.
A gear swap would be sweet. I dont have a garage though. So doint it here in january would be COLD. I wouldnt trust driving it up to you with the crappy tires i have. Doesnt look like ill be getting tires until tax return unless a job that i have a lead on pans out saturday.
BF goodrich is hiring here.
