Looks real good. You should clean up your wheel wells and it'll help a lot for the look.

I was thinking the same thing, looks like he may have to trim the rear of the front fenders

Re: Lift Is In

I did very minor trimming. mostly a bfh did the trick. The rear of the front fender i took out mabey a inch and a half but it was just the tab sticking in toward the wheels so theres no visable cut marks looking from the side.

As for turning i can go just about a 1/8th of a turn away from turning lock to lock. It just rubs if i hit the driveway curb a little fast so not bad at all

AS for cleaning up the wheel wells i need to clean the whole truck pics where taking as soon as i got all 4 tires on hahaha

Re: Lift Is In

looks good man. but did you do the moog springs as well?? i have the same lift you have but i also have the moogs up front. after i did install i still had some good rubbing. i dont see how you dont have alot of rubbing with only a 3in lift spindle

Re: Lift Is In

NO moogs or spings.

The truck when i bought it stock sat alittle higher becuase of the towing package. The front doesnt rub basicly at all. IT 4" backspacing and minor trimming on the inside of the fender and a BFH.

Also its a reg cab but i dont think that would change anything

Re: Lift Is In

I forgot, did you get Aim or Fabtech spindle?

Less backspacing help with room from rubbing on 31s with spindle, the lower the backspacing, the more room you'll have.

You can trim as well as I did.

Quick example.

Yea. i dont need a 4x4 right now. If i were to buy a 4wd s10 id just by a silverado instead. I bought a 2wd so i lifted a 2wd simple as that. It looks alot nicer then it did on 20s IMO and i can acutaly go down a dirt road at more then 5 MPH and not worry about bending my rims.

x2. but i have a 4x4x also. You will find a few of the 4x4 guys hanging in the 2wd section so they can bash us. No big deal.

Re: Lift Is In

yea. the hitch took most of the hit. The hole frame from cab back bent down and the top of the box hit the cab and the bottom of the box is about 4 inches away from the cab. also the door jams and shit on the cab are f'd the rear doors wont open. Also the wheel with the tire poped is cracked in half down the middle. It takes alot to pop a 35 inch mud tire....

Re: Lift Is In

Looks real good. Im actually thinking about putting the stock springs back in for ride quality. But dreading to have to redo the back as well and go SUA. Alot of work. I may trade a guy for his stick 4wd s10. But im kind of afraid on getting someones junk. Or having a tranny problem with it. Not sure what i may do.

Re: Lift Is In

Chances are very good it'll be marked as totaled because with cab being damaged and tweaked. This is 1 of great reason to own a lift truck, less worry when getting in accident and something NOT to worry about as daily driver so if you spend excessive money and this shit happens = big blow to your $'s worth of building truck beyond your insurance's pay.

Truck is looking real good, just make sure you get 2" spring then shackle in rear(GMachingRacing.com or Bajacustoms.com) However, after you lift the front, be sure to measure the rear of how much higher you'll like it to be and you can only get 3" lift in rear with shackle BUT with SUA, a lot less wheel axle wrap/wheel hop.

Re: Lift Is In

yea. i was thinking about making some bigger shackles in metals class. would be very easy and i can use the schools metal

The truck that got hit he's buying it back. Already have the wheels sold, tail lights sold, the custom lift sold, the TV deck the leather seats... I dont know about the seats for sure they are bend from the impacted..... hopefully the guy that want them doesnt look close. also you can sell the front bumber for BIG $ and the custom headlights in it.

Theres alot of stuff on that truck that we can sell to make up the difference in the insurance pay out.

We found one truck a REAL SS like his with a 14 inch lift and 40s for sale in denver for 19000 were thinking about flying out and driving it back. would be a sickkk truck its the dark blue model.

Re: Lift Is In

Hey brother by removing the sway bar, it will allow your suspension to independently cycle better off road. It will roll a little in the turns on the street, but that's not a big deal. It will feel a little weird at first though.
