help soa

i wanna do soa on my truck, but im not entirely sure how... i know basically whats involved, with welding on new perches and all, but after that... if i wasnt going to get a flip kit what else would be involved? and to keep the leafs in place, would i just flip the spring / shock mount plates over and bolt them back on upside down? and if i did get a flip kit, would the one that 4WD Joey is advertising from 4wd factory be a good choice? ive heard good things about it.
i was hoping i could get some pics of how some of you have your SOAs set up, i would appreciate it

Re: help soa

Not sure if i have pics, but i did one with a 10 bolt before i swapped in my 8.8, and i just welded new perches on, and turned the spring plates over and swapped sides and it work perfectly.

This is the only pic. Its when i swapped in the 8.8, but you should get the idea. I grabbed the stock spring plates and ubolts from the explorer i yanked it out of. but you get the idea.

Its deff not the best pic, i have some work to finish up on the rear. but you can kinda see it.

Re: help soa

would it be beter to flip over the plate and mount it upside down over the leafs? or get that flip kit? the stock plate is made to be mounted under the leaf, if i fliped them would they be too weak?

Re: help soa

the way my shocks attached were from the spring plate, and when i move it to on top i just swapped the passenger side to the driver side and vice versa and they were were fine. Thats all i did was buy perches from summit racing and went from there.
