Re: Vid of my HIDs
Not always the problem. The housings and the adjustment play a factor in it. 10Ks look good man. I personally wouldn't have went with that but if you like them, awesome. ![]() |

Re: Vid of my HIDs
They glare worse than most want to admit. I'm blinded almost daily by idiots putting them in things they have no business being in. I'm all for HID but only if the time has been spent doing research to make them fit and be glare free. Some guy trying to make a buck on fleabay doesn't care what they go in or whom they blind and cause a wreck as long as he getting his $$$.

Re: Vid of my HIDs
pics??? I know what the beam pattern of regular fluted lenses are, and, well... not impressed, haha. All the projector lights make our trucks look like bugs, but if the beam pattern isnt too bad on the clear lights, I may have to get some, and get some hids... my buddy has a silverado, and he has hids in his, and they arent too bad at all... I dont know if the flutes make the beam goofy, or if its just the small size of our lights in general...
But anyway, pics would be GREATLY appreciated from any or all above posters... |

Re: Vid of my HIDs
The pictures really don't show them correctly. I'll take some pics tonight of the cutoffs. I tried last night but there was a vehicle parked next to the garage. I'll get some tonight.
Headlights only (didn't use flash so its a bit blurry.) ![]() Headlights only ![]() Headlights and both sets of fogs. Not sure why it looks so blue, I think my camera needs reset. All HID's are 6K. ![]() Headlights and both sets of fogs. ![]() Last edited by deathphoenix99 : 11-06-2009 at 09:32 AM. |

Re: Vid of my HIDs
^^ holy hell that alot of lights! But those housings seem to have a better output than factory... am I seeing this correctly? from my perspective, it looks like a smooth layer of light, not so much just scattered particles like the factory housings do...
excellent work guys... First person to get a cut-off pic on a wall gets a cookie!!! |

Re: Vid of my HIDs
Its nice on country roads and beaches when I'm watching out for obstacles or animals. But normally I only use the headlights and one set of fogs, not both. I'll get cut-off pics tonight like I said. Just have to wait until its dark out. BTW. My bulbs in my headlights came with a metal piece that cuts the light off from hitting the bottom of the lens (reflecting up) and the lens has a metal piece also. So all of the light in the headlights hits only the top portion of the lens (for the most part) and this causes it to reflect downward and have a nice cut off line. My fogs, however, do not have anything like this, meaning they are bright as hell. |

Re: Vid of my HIDs
I adjusted my headlights down about 6 inches from aiming about 20' away from a wall. My hids just went out three weeks ago, so I'm back to some old PIAA bulbs. Even with out HIDs the headlight relay helps so damn much. |

Re: Vid of my HIDs
already a member, I dont post, but I have read pretty much everything there is to read, I just dont think a projector retro is for me... I am confident that I would have the skills to pull it off, but I dont care enough to put all that time and money into it... 150 for clear housings, and a decent cut-off, or several hundred for projectors, and excellent cut-off.
Ill take the 1st! Besides I dont want HIDS for the pretty-colored-cutoff line that most people get off on, I just want more light. The roads suck, and theres so many damn animals that junp out in front of you, its just seems like a good idea to me. Ive got the headlights rewired + quadbeam + silverstar Xtreme's, but Im thinking HIDS will be better, especially if I do quadbeam HIDS... |

Re: Vid of my HIDs
Got some pics finally! It wasn't as dark out as the pics suggest. If it was, they probably would turn out better.
Here are my lows with no flash on camera. ![]() Lows with flash for a quick reference. ![]() Highs on. Please realize that my highs are not any brighter, the bulb is only tilted upward aiming the beams higher and further down the road. ![]() Here I am with my truck farther from the wall. ![]() Heres with fogs on also. I know I have to adjust the right side a lil higher. ![]() |

Re: Vid of my HIDs
I bought 4x6 conversion housings (they have the blue running light). Please note that they require minor trimming of the bucket for them to sit in correctly. I think they cost $30-40 shipped on ebay. My HID's, on the other hand cost just under $100 shipped. I bought the Hi-low HID that uses a motor to simulate highs. I will have to look it up later as I dont have access to ebay at work. The kit I bought was awesome though, it even came with a relay kit that was all plug in play with a H4 harness. Here are a couple threads with the conversion and pics. http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f62/so...for-ya-402934/ http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f62/h4...ersion-161970/ |

Re: Vid of my HIDs
I got my 4x6's from ebay. They are the same ones in this link.
http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f62/so...for-ya-402934/ I don't have access to ebay at work. Otherwise I'd give you a link to them. I've had these housings for almost 6 months now. My first set of housings worked, but weren't quite as good of output as their reflective material wasn't as good. I'd still have them if it wasn't for a rock that busted one of them. The ones I have now have a glass lens so it shouldn't yellow either. It has the blue driving light and is a 4x6 h4 conversion lens. |

Re: Vid of my HIDs
So wait, those are 4x6 sealed beam conversions? if so damn it, I have composites... the clear lamps I was asking about are like these
http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f216/v...4/#post6617876 but those lamps have nice output anyway, better than most 4x6's... |

Re: Vid of my HIDs
Sorry, I can't see the picture at work. Only photobucket works here. If its imageshack, thats blocked along with a few others.
But yes, mine are 4x6's I like the looks better than composites. Only the 98+ S10 headlights are better looking IMO. Wish I could help, but I can't. |

Yes. Normal headlamps have flutes in the lens which scatters off more light above where you need it. |
