Wiring question on my LS1 swap.

Im in the middle of swapping in a LS1 into my s10 and we are having a problem with the antitheft system. The motor will fire up and run for just a few seconds then shut off and we keep getting code p1626 and occasionally code u1255. We took the motor, trans, computer and harness out of the car and are trying to splice my truck harness and car harness together. Is it possible to make the 2 different systems work together or can we over ride it or are we fighting a losing battle? Any help will be greatly appreciated. The donor car is a 2000 Trans Am btw.

Re: Wiring question on my LS1 swap.

You just need to have a programmer turn off the antitheft system

Re: Wiring question on my LS1 swap.

Bypass it with a resistor if you know which wires they are coming out the ECM. Find the two wires for the ign. switch (VATS) coming out ECM, test the 2 with a OHM meter, and thats the resistor you need to wire in.

A whole lot cheaper than getting a programmer unless you know someone who has one.

Re: Wiring question on my LS1 swap.

Thanks for the help guys, i ended up getting ahold of a speed shop here in town and for 300 dollars they are going to disable the anti-theft, take care of my o2 sensors and egr, and tune the truck. hoping it will be back in my driveway by tuesday or wednesday.

Re: Wiring question on my LS1 swap.

15 cent resistor and a small toggle switch wired in line for a cheap theft deterent system.
I did this on my 83 blazer 4x4 to 94 Camaro drivetrain swap about 10 yrs ago and its worked fine.
Read the resistor of the key that the system came out of and match it.
Also youll need the VATS.
