What oil?

What oil are you guys using? A lot of people recommend shell rotella for my motorcycle and am wondering if I could simplify my life by buying 5 gallon jugs locally. They have 15w-40 dyno and 5w-40 synth for good prices.

I know gm uses 5w-30 mobil 1 synth which is about $5 more a change. I have a cammed 5.3L so should I just keep using what I am or could I change?

I live in texas so temps are from 20s in winter for maybe a month and upto 105 summer.

im using 5w-30 mobile one synthetic with the extra gaurd or whatever it is. It was a deal buy six quarts i beleive and get a mobile one oil filter for 50 bucks

Damn! 5 quarts of 5w30 mobil 1 synth and filter at walmart is $30. I was hoping to get my change to like $18 using this lol.

using the same oil and not mixing and changing it at the proper rintervals are the most important as long as your using and good grade of oil yea both choices would be fine some people are very perticular about the brand of oil they use so you will get many different answers about the best brands & wt

ehh i stay away from walmart
but i do like to go in at twelve at night and see all the great people there hahaha

walmart is the cheapest for oil by me as well. autozone charges like 8 bucks more for the 5 quart containers

im a cheap-o,lol conventional Valvoline 10/30 in the winter and 20/50 in the summer. except the tahoe i use 10/30 year round. may sound cheap, but i got 181000 miles on my truck

I run whatever is cheap and synthetic5w30 or 10w30. I have run Mobil 1 for years which is typically $20-22 at walmart for 5 quarts. I have Walmart synthetic in my truck right now and its $18 for 5 quarts.

I also have 2 cases of Amzoil that I got a deal on, so Ill run that next.

I also believe that as long as you change your oil at the correct intervals that it really doesn't matter. Synthetic oils don't really wear out the oil itself, its the additives that get used up. Most synthetics now say to change your oil once a year or 12-15k miles, heck cars now have a 7500 mile interval from the OEM.

I use Q Horsepower Full Syn 5w-30. It adds like 10hp just cause Dale Jr's name is on it

... 5 qrts and a filter is usually like $25 at Autozone.

Last month Mobil 1 was running a special. $10 off coupon for a 5 quart jug of full synthetic. I picked up a couple at Walmart for $23. Net was $13 for 5 quarts of 10W30 Full synthetic.

Penzoil had $15 back not too long ago too for full synthetic and it was only $20.at Walmart. $5 isnt bad for 5 quarts.
