Video~ Dyno, couple races~

New video guys.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vSJ2dpvTbA

Dyno:
65* outside.
7.3 psi
3.73 gears, ford 8.8 rearend
Hotcam
BRIB underdrive pulley
Sanderson headers
Midmount turbo
Exhaust head-wrapped
t-56 trans
ACT clutch
No intercooler.

max power: 440 rwhp, 407 rwtq. Only revving to 5k.

Problems:
170* intake temps
A little valve float at 5300 rpm
So i'm not revving past 3 until new springs are in.

NEXT::::::
Rev to 6k rpm
Add intercooler and Meth. Injection
Add timing.
up it to 10psi
Should be good for 550rwhp!

Nice truck!

You'll like it much better with an intercooler and 100 degree IAT's.

Wow that thing is pretty bitchin even for as mild as it is. Can't beat a turbo LS. Props, have fun with it.

Re: Video~ Dyno, couple races~

Great work man. Once you fit an intercooler on it, your intake air temps will be slightly above ambient, depending on intercooler location.

Excellent work

haha, from a dig a civic would prob eat me. I have massive wheel hop in 1st and 2nd. Prob from the stupid lowering blocks i'm using.

the only weekly thing i go to is Wendy's parking lot by CHuck-e-cheese at the R.I. mall.

Every friday and saturday night there's about 30-40 cars that come to hang out. Every now and then a cop comes and tells everyone to leave, but they don't hassle us. And we all filter back within 10 mins anyway haha.

Come by some time. I'll be there friday night

Well, i had an experiment. I lowered the truck 2" with lowering blocks. I swapped a Ford 8.8" rear axle that had traction bars on it stock... so i made a bracket attatching the traction bars to the s10 frame.

I think the lowering blocks are killing it.

Slide a links are the next trick. How much do those run ussually?

Re: Video~ Dyno, couple races~

I am not sure on the slide-a-links but from what I understand caltracks are better or were made first and copied... They are also cheaper $339.00 http://calvertracing.com/caltracs.php

Re: Video~ Dyno, couple races~

nice numbers. you have a real ls1 or a truck engine? and i think if you reroute your intake tube futher away from the engine and exhaust you might be able to lower the intake temp alot with out an intercooler

It's the boost that puts the intake temps up. It's almost instant. I can idle there with the hood closed for twenty mins and not see higher than 110*. As soon as i hit boost, it spikes to 168*
The intercooler is ordered already though Heh Heh.

And it's a real LS1 out of my crashed 98 corvette.
