Vette gauge cluster

Has anyone ever used the factory corvette gauge cluster in their s-10? I'm going to be putting an ls1/2 in an s-10 and I was thinking of using the vette gauge cluster. Any ideas opinions or links would be helpful! Thanks!

There is a turbo blazer around here that has the vette cluster, he probably has a thread some 4~10 pages back.

Re: Vette gauge cluster

Do an advanced search on 12sec ss

He's the one who has the truck with the vette cluster.

Re: Vette gauge cluster

thanks!! I was more concerned of the wiring and what has to be retrofitted or if any when using a ls1/2 vette motor.

Re: Vette gauge cluster

The current owner of the blazer did not do the gauge conversion (in his defense), however, I do agree that it could have been integrated into the dash with a little more flair.

Re: Vette gauge cluster

Probably wouldn't look right on its own in a first gen... I'd love to have a 200 mph speedo tho lol

Re: Vette gauge cluster

I like that a lot, but it could have been done more neatly. I'm going to have to start looking into wiring diagrams.

Re: Vette gauge cluster

Im going to do some research on it and see if I can find wiring schematics. There maybe a way to just put it in using the vette motors. Im sure there is just a voltage difference and it can be done.

Could not get it to work.

The tach and speedo are moderated by the circuit boards in the I/P.

In order to install a 7K tach in a 120 MPH cluster, it would require the removal of the circuits for the tach and re-installation of the new circuits.

After about 50 hours, I retired from that idea.

I'm going with the Bravada cluster now.

Re: Vette gauge cluster

what will be needed to install the bravada cluster? will it be accurate or as accurate as it would be in a bravada?

Re: Vette gauge cluster

Nothing is required. Keep it the same year and it's a direct replacement.
The Tach will read correct and the speedometer will work correctly.

If I remember, Jared has done this to one of his also.

However, I see that you have an LT1. I would call Jared on this before you purchased one.
