Starting the swap of a 5.3 in my noma

Hi this winter i decide to swap my truck. we start 2 week a go. i will post some picture every time that will make some new thing.

for starting that is the patient: 00 sonoma, 4.3 manual

the engine : come from a 04 silverado

and now is time to work

first day of work

second

third

car carpet are good to work on the floor :P

little test of the floor console

today we remove the seat and interior of the truck i will post some pic later

for finish i have a little question. what braket do you use to put the A/C on the top on the engine. because i don't want to notch the frame.

Re: Starting the swap of a 5.3 in my noma

Looks like a great start chapdou.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the engine/all accessories and the wire harness?

Feel free to send me a PM if you'd like.

Out of curiosity, what all usually needs to be moved around on a newer 5.7 for proper fitment with out cutting? Thanks

J

itd be nice if you dont quote all the pictures, your question had nothing to do with any of the pics, its just a random question that can be answered without all the pics, lol thank you
it only makes the page longer, and for those with dial up takes alot longer to load all those pics that arent neccesary to view them 10 times while scrolling down

Re: Starting the swap of a 5.3 in my noma

Do yourself a favor and buy CPW harness and pcm thats programed for your truck.I think there is only a few guys on here that has attempted to spice into your old harness,me included and I failed and I'm an elevator mechanic,so I've seen a wire or two.So I bit the bullet and bought the harness from Jared.Nightmare solved.Just my 2cents.Good luck,Mike

Re: Starting the swap of a 5.3 in my noma

front the a/c clutch was hitting the idler arm. but my motor mount also was not going forward all the way (makes the motor sit futher back) because it was hitting the a/c bracket that holds the compressor
