quick question about LS1 swap.

I am in the middle of my swap and I was wondering if anybody has found a set of headers other than the Sanderson headers (which are pretty much worthless unless the motor is stock) that are worth a darn. I'm looking for a full length header about 30" long with a 3" collector and a 1 3/4 primary. Thanks a bunch guys.

LHT should have a set coming real soon . I have talked with him last week cause i'm getting the mounts from him . I know you had some bad expirience with him . I talked with him today and he told me my mounts should be ready to ship tomorow with fed ex . For headers i'm making my own using a do-your self kit from www.headersbyed.com . I already got the box full with bends , flanges , bolts , collectors , gaskets , etc..
My plans are a little bigger then yours , i got 1 7/8 flanges and primerias with 3.5 inch collector . These are going to a reducer going to 3 inch . These primeries are huge . In my situation making headers would be piece of cake . Its not gonna have a/c , inner fenders , bla bla bla . The collector is going behind the wheels (egual length ) and goes to 3 inch true dual magnaflow mufflers .After i get my mounts i will start doing the headers . I will take some pics of the box with bends and flanges if you are interested . Ed is a realy great guy to deal with . If you don't want to do it yourself , wait for LHT .
Lee told me they are prototyping 1 3/4 primiry and 3 inch collector right now . I see they are selling 1.5 primary and 2.5 inch collector which i think is too small even for a stock ls1 . And with cam youi are choking it .

Re: quick question about LS1 swap.

I really don't want to deal with LHT again to be honest. He left a real sour taste in my mouth. He makes a real good product but it took way too long to receive a part that I had payed for a few months in advance. If he has a set then I might be forced to go with him but that will probiably be the last option. I would love to have somebody like Kooks or Stainless works use my truck as a prototype for the headers being they custom make headers for conversions like this it would make things good for all the s-series community. Hmm I now have an idea.

Re: quick question about LS1 swap.

The last time I saw the "prototype" LS1 headers, they were sitting 1/2 done on the floor agains the wall collecting dust and rust.
I think he has an '01 blazer LS1 swap coming in, so maybe he will finish them then. But figure it takes 6 months or so for him to complete a swap.
Hell... he has a Monte Carlo that is getting an LS1 that, between storage and his shop, has been here from New York for nearly 2 years.

Re: quick question about LS1 swap.

Jared , first time i look into your website . Nice harneses . You know what would had been great , would be an stand alone eletrical harness for lights , horn , etc using the plug that is suposed to go to the bcm . So instead of the wire going from a switch ( example light switch ) to the bcm and from the bcm to the relay , it would be nicer to have something to just take out the bcm and plug a box in place of it where all the connectors should plug . Its dificult to explain but i know you know what i mean . I tryied to take off the bcm but after looking at all the work involved i decided to keep it .
