Yeah, just gotta find a deal on them, I'd rather not spend $300 for one unless I have to.
Little update for the truck though, got some C5 Wagonwheels for free! W00T! ![]() |

i like this build andy, i just traded my 89s10 with a 355 in it for a lifted 80chevy 4wd, since iv done that i miss having something thats fast, so i been lookin into doin a 5.3 swap/build for the xtreme. This is helpin me out alot, giving me a idea on how much im lookin into spending to do it and all. Good Luck on everything, ill keep on reading and see how its coming along. Have you figured out what size of cam your gonna put in it?

Well I suppose I got lucky. Because the red one is actually going on the C5 since my dad wanted it red. The one for mine was already painted gun metal.

Keep the red intake, or give it to your dad and also paint yours red.
Our trucks will be like TWINS haha. Both red, wagon wheels, LSx's, red intakes Are you going to run Fuel Rail Covers? Here is my red intake. ![]() And the Wagon Wheels: and by the way, they are DIRTY !!! ![]() Last edited by turbobandit : 10-30-2009 at 04:17 PM. |

By the way... you may want to scrape the pain out of the holes where the Injectors go in... Wouldn't want fuel breaking it down and then leaking out

Re: [Project] MoPowa - 5.3 Build
Good idea on the injector ports. I was wondering if I should. Fuel rail covers, undecided... and stop taunting me on the Wagon Wheels
![]() The gunmetal intake should be here tomorrow, will post pics just for you Kampz. Ordered a cam bearing removal and installation tool and looking at some flex hones. Anyone know what type of grit I should get for the flex hone. The cylinder walls look great as they are but I'd like to freshen them up. 120, 180, 240? |

Re: [Project] MoPowa - 5.3 Build
Question guys...
Since this motor was freshened up not to long ago, the crank journals still look good. Would yall still recommend me polishing the journals? Running my fingernail across the journal I can't feel any pits or anything... Just a pic for reference. ![]() |

Re: [Project] MoPowa - 5.3 Build
that looks great. just dont let any dust settle on that journal before putting the cap back on
check all your bearings if you have a concern with them. like you say, shouldnt be any grooves that you can feel. use a nice thick weight oil on em before reassembly and you wont need to prime the engine before its first start EDIT: oh and while youre at it, pull that oil pump apart and port it!!!!! ![]() Last edited by LS2Sonoma : 11-05-2009 at 08:58 PM. |

thanks for the heads up Frank. I got some of the Clevite Bearing Guard assembly lube, should that be good enough? I guess I'll pull the pump apart and port it to, although I'm sick of it lol.

Re: [Project] MoPowa - 5.3 Build
inner bolts, initial pass: 15 ft/lbs, final pass 80 degrees outer bolts, initial pass: 15 ft/lbs, final pass 51-53 degrees if using aftermarket, they should have specs to follow. |

Re: [Project] MoPowa - 5.3 Build
you torque the bolt down as normal, then turn it whatever degrees you need using a torque angle gauge.
shouldve added to my other post that the side cap bolts get 18ft/lbs only. |
