< Project > LS1 Goodies

Hey guys.... As some of you know, i purchased an upgrade setup from Vengeance Racing. It includes their VRX4 cam (comp cams), trick flow 220cc heads, trick flow pushrods, Yella Terra roller rockers, a FAST 92mm intake, and a billet Nick Williams 92mm throttle body. (with of course all gaskets, ARP head bolts, and rod bolts) Also, because my ls1 is a 2000, it has 26 lb injectors, so i got a set of factory 28 lb. injectors from a 2001 ls1. (that's what they recommended) While i have the engine out, im gonna freshen up the bottom end for good measure. I was actually planning on yanking the motor today, but i had a rough day at work, and couldn't bare to stay any longer, so im technically starting tomorrow, even tho part of the front end is already off. This particular setup is proven at 500+ hp, but typically rear wheel numbers seem to be around 460, so we'll see what happens. Pics will be up tomorrow. I'm off to have a beer

Re: < Project > LS1 Goodies

Little update... Didnt get to work on the truck too much today, but i got the front end off at least. Maybe tomorrow ill yank the d/s, trans, and maybe the engine. I was pretty surprised, cuz i never pulled the front end myself, cuz a friend of mine at the body shop down the block usually does it for nothing, but he was busy. It only took a little over an hour to accomplish. Pics are uploading now, so gimme a few

Re: < Project > LS1 Goodies

Great looking parts list...might as well upgrade to 42lb. injectors for future mods. Srsly, you'll run into high duty cycles with those parts.

Looks real good! I believe the Nick Williams TB are ported and polished, or at least polished. I've seen a few on LS1Tech.

I concur i don't think 28s will be enough if my calculations are any where near correct at 85% duty cycle they should only support around 400 i think you would be better off with the 42's or if your running the stock fuel pressure then maybe a set of aftermarket 30lb'ers or maybe 37lb'ers that are rated at 3 bar of fuel pressure not the stock 4 bar.

I have 28.8's on my truck that are reading 98~100% duty cycle at my 443rwhp. I know people have carried them past 110% duty cycles but I'm not sure how the duty cycle is calculated. He could always pick up some red top Fords cheap.

i didn't mean that they couldn't support more power at a high duty cycle but i wouldn't like to run them at that high a duty cycle if i had the choice.. sometimes injectors start to do weird things when pushed to the limits... I'm just saying for future reference a little bigger wouldn't hurt you especial just a size up or two.

btw..... thats one cool looking chicken... bet he doesn't taste very well though lol, also looking good so far should make for one fast truck when your done.

Re: < Project > LS1 Goodies

haha i just had to get a response from someone about that

As for the injectors, yea, i actually thought the same thing in the beginning, but the guy at vengeance told me that would be enough.... i dunno... depending on how much more money this is gonna set me back, i may just get a new set. Any recommendations?

shit...i didnt even see this..."subscribes". Iam jus about ready to take mine off the road for some healthy upgrades myself. And damnit if i am not tempted to get Long Tubes for my truck....its very very tempting, so i dunno how u dont already have them, lol.

One question, do you think about replacing ur UCA's with tubulars? I was thinking of doing the Gbody tubulars for mine for added clearnce but i dunno how they would do on the street. What do you think?

And good luck with the rest of this swap, hope it goes very smooth now that u got parts that are supposd to be hand and hand with each other.

Id absolutely love to get lt's, but i just cant justify spending another 1000 bucks on that, and then having to redo my exhaust too..... As for the uppers, i have considered it, but id probably get sd uppers.... and i have no clue how the g-body ones would work

yea i hear you...lt1 long tubes are lik 300 bux so its alittle better for me, lol.

And the gbody ones are for my application. Though heres the link to them or the sphons, not sure which are better, but i might do the UCA/LCA upgrade as well. that and the battery relocated to the bed would take out approx. 60lb off the front end. Not too bad
