I'm sure you know by now the stock tran isn't a direct bolt to the 5.3 and is somewhat weak

Re: Project Haulin Ass Jimmy

your need to slot your flywheel's converter holes slightly and get a spacer that bolts onto the crank and the appropriate ARP bolts for it. the part numbers are around here somewhere, you just have to look for them

Re: Project Haulin Ass Jimmy

yea, theres a different flywheel, but for the amount that you have to slot the holes its not worth spending any money. do what you want, it was just an option

Create a photobucket account here http://photobucket.com/ Then when you upload the images you can choose what size you want them to be. Once they are loaded into your photobucket account you can use the IMG code found under the picture (just cut and paste it here).

if you take out the proper amount, no. each hole only needs to be slotted 1/32"

Re: Project Haulin Ass Jimmy

Torque converter shouldn't be a balance problem since it centers itself in the back of the crank.

Re: Project Haulin Ass Jimmy

the vette LS2 drive gives u more space for fans and stuff but i would make the truck system work cost less

Re: Project Haulin Ass Jimmy

Yeah you can go with either the truck or vette accessories. The vette accessories will give you (iirc) about 1.75-2" more clearance. Many people have used the truck accessories though so I think whichever you decide you will be fine.

Re: Project Haulin Ass Jimmy

hey we are going threw the same thing with almost the same vehicle.

here it was awile back

then stuff just wasn't the way i wanted it to be so i took stuff out

the trans bolts up it just doesn't line up exactly

the green lined up and the red either wasn't there or couldn't bolt up the i had a newer style trans that was 2 piece but yours should be the same. that statement at the top i didn't write and isn't correct from my understanding the LS1 4th gen camaros have a 4L60E but have the top bolt hole but i guess its true for the most part the only reason i could get the bottom bolt hole on the trans is i have an LS2 pan. The swap for blazers and jimmys are differnent due to the factory body lift of 1 inch or so thats why blazer Xtremes lay fram before they lay plastic like the S10 pick-ups

The k member motor mounts have a pedistal for them that S10s do not have.

This is the clearance of an LS2 pan with conversion mounts with 2.8 fram mounts and 1/2 inch spacers holding it up higher well the clearance issues i ran into that you don't hear much about is the A/C box i'm tryin to make mine work with out messin with it the original one i messed up but it hit a lot of stuff.

I'm getting a new one that i haven't fucked up already and i'm gonna sit that motor down into the car as far as i can in order to clear stuff like that. i'm no expert i'm just finding stuff out like this threw trial and error. hope the info helps oh the tranny spacer part # is GM part#12563532 Bolts Part#12563533

Re: Project Haulin Ass Jimmy

if you run the truck intake you will have to cut the bracing out of the hood to clear i know a few guys have had to do this me as well, the heater box i think is a must,i guess depending on the mounts you use the tranny cross member mount hole will need to be slotted(mine was a 1/2")there is alot of variables between builds though

Re: Project Haulin Ass Jimmy

I had to cut a good amount out of my a/c box on my blazer. I had a sheet metal shop make a piece to fit in there and tacked it in and covered it in house insulation tape.
