I love the new Wilson intake, Sheet Metal production intake cut with there 5 Axis. But for $3,000 not sure its worth it. Other choice would be the Hogans Sheet Metal intake. But again looking at over $2,500 Im one for going over kill plus I like the look of a sheet metal intake.

I would love to run that intake. unfortunatly I didn't win the lottery... I like the metal intakes because in the event of a nitrous backfire it wont shatter. I will very likely upgrade the intake some day but for now any shortcomings will be compensated with MORE BOTTLE!!!!

looks like ls6 with some patriot work done on them, you can tell by the triangle by the sparkplug. Those are better than the ones without the triangle anyway.

Awesome, I love the buildup stages of an engine and pictures that follow during assembly!

I think someone else already asked but I will ask it again, is the 9" a bolt in for the s10?

Hey Guys... The 9" is a complete unit... I would not call it a bolt in. It does not come with all of the parts needed but YES it does fit. It is the s-10 unit they offer.

The patriot heads are Stage II LS6 units. 64cc chambers and Yeah I Trust them with a 200 hit. I trusted my stock internal 5.3L to a 200 hit, it should be a cake walk for this motor.

Just a matter of my opinion on the design. Cal tracs are excellent I personally like a few of the design features in the Comp Eng. ones better myself.

Cubic inch for cubic inch, LSx motors will make more power than the same size Gen II small block simply because of all the extra technology put into the block.

A lot of info, but check this out if you want to know the differences.

The disks are 11" explorer disks, with Earl's Braided stainless lines and lokar parking cables.

Wow, I just noticed you have the A/C compressor mounted high in the accessory bracket, vs down near the passenger frame like all other LSx S10 swaps I've seen. Could you elaborate on that? I hate notching frames, so it would be helpful to know when the 6.0L goes in my truck in a few months.

Ok, another question. How did you get your 5.3 to sit so low?

When looking at this guys Envoy 5.3 in his 4x4, he even had to put in a body lift so the hood would close.

he is using the truck intake. There is no intake on mine in the picture. that would make it look a lot lower. also no coils ect.

As far as the AC setup its from street and performance. I didnt cut or notch ANYTHING!

the disks are a bolt on to the rear end. You have to plumb new lines and parking brake cables. And they are only a direct bolt on if you have the torino style ends on your housing.

That's the best way to go. The S-truck frame is already weak enough when talking 400hp+, so notching the frame rails and crossmember for the pan and A/C compressor is just a dumb idea, IMO. I could probably get away with more notching since my suspension relies on the frame rails but still, in a lifted truck or 1/4 mile truck situation stresses are far more than on a daily driver.

Did you machine your own bracket or did it come with a kit of some kind?

Awesome buildup. If your already tearing apart the "old" engine, you must have the new one pretty close to complete. Anymore pic's?
